Applying a functional and cognitivist framework, Verónica Orqueda discusses the different possible strategies and proposes a distribution determined by the interaction between reflexivity, transitivity and valency. This study enriches typological approaches to the emergence of reflexives and therefore, on the basis of the Vedic data, it shows that nominal reflexive strategies may especially arise in contexts of underspecified verbal valency. 410 0$aBrill's Studies in Historical Linguistics$v08. 606 $aVedic language$xReflexives 615 0$aVedic language$xReflexives. 676 $a491/.29 700 $aOrqueda$b Vero?nica$01507372 801 0$bNL-LeKB 801 1$bNL-LeKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910793303503321 996 $aReflexivity in Vedic$93738013 997 $aUNINA
