Findings show the diverse ways in which enmity (or the dehumanized other) is constructed, including through socialization processes, associating difference as deficient, systems of exclusion, disengaged citizenship, and cultures of competition and rivalry. Results also show how critical adult education can reveal hidden forms of power embedded within normalizations of violence, creating opportunities for peacebuilding education. By collaboratively engaging in peace research with youth, and by explicitly exploring power as a central component of violence, violence transformation and peacebuilding education led by youth become imaginable. 410 0$aInternational Issues in Adult Education$v25. 606 $aPeace$xStudy and teaching 606 $aPeace-building$xStudy and teaching 615 0$aPeace$xStudy and teaching. 615 0$aPeace-building$xStudy and teaching. 676 $a303.66 700 $aBaillie Abidi$b Catherine$01544057 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910793298203321 996 $aPedagogies for building cultures of peace$93797950 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03721nam 2200721 450 001 9910809453003321 005 20230617003516.0 010 $a1-281-99945-8 010 $a9786611999452 010 $a3-11-021171-8 024 7 $a10.1515/9783110211719 035 $a(CKB)1000000000697846 035 $a(EBL)3043369 035 $a(OCoLC)922946550 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000209988 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11197000 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000209988 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10266446 035 $a(PQKB)10097160 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3043369 035 $a(WaSeSS)Ind00016823 035 $a(DE-B1597)35471 035 $a(OCoLC)979587947 035 $a(DE-B1597)9783110211719 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3043369 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10761827 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL199945 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000697846 100 $a20090821d2004 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aNew approaches to the study of religion$hVolume 2$iTextual, comparative, sociological, and cognitive approaches /$fedited by Peter Antes, Armin W.
