There is also no doubt that excessive amounts of consumer credit, allied to a weak understanding of how globalised credit markets might react to a crisis, have played a significant part. This book, which is primarily about credit, debt and the trouble they have led to, is written by authors who have specialised in researching into over-indebtedness, that is, situations in which an individual's debt burden has become overwhelming. For these authors the plight of individuals is a primary concern, but the wider issue is how credit is used and how it changes societies. The essays in this volume, addressing topics which are fundamental to our understanding of the current crisis, range widely across the whole sector of consumer finance, including mortgages, 'credit-binges', the regulation of consumer lending, insolvency, repayment plans, debt counselling and much more besides. The conclusions drawn from the book are equally wide-ranging, but above all the lesson learned from these essays is that the financialisation of contemporary life ensures that issues of the appropriate role of credit remain of critical importance in society 606 $aConsumer credit$xLaw and legislation$vCongresses 606 $2Consumer protection law 606 $aDebtor and creditor$vCongresses 606 $aBankruptcy$vCongresses 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aConsumer credit$xLaw and legislation 615 0$aDebtor and creditor 615 0$aBankruptcy 676 $a332.743 702 $aNiemi$b Johanna$f1957- 702 $aRamsay$b Iain 702 $aWhitford$b William C.$f1940- 801 0$bUtOrBLW 801 1$bUtOrBLW 801 2$bUkLoBP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910456732203321 996 $aConsumer credit, debt and bankruptcy$92458980 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03735nam 2200649 a 450 001 9910778820703321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a0-8173-8419-7 035 $a(CKB)2550000000081978 035 $a(EBL)835639 035 $a(OCoLC)772459648 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000591614 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11370752 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000591614 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10697053 035 $a(PQKB)11253569 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse27026 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL835639 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10527781 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC835639 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000000081978 100 $a20050707d2006 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aLight on the path$b[electronic resource] $ethe anthropology and history of the southeastern Indians /$fedited by Thomas J. The past 20 years have witnessed a change in the study of the prehistory and history of the native peoples of the American South. This paradigm shift is the bridging of prehistory and history to fashion a seamless social history that includes not only the 16th-century Late Mississippian period and the 18th-century colonial period but also the largely forgotten--and critically important--century in between. The shift is in part methodological, for it involves com 606 $aMississippian culture$zSouthern States 606 $aChiefdoms$zSouthern States 606 $aIndians of North America$zSouthern States$xHistory 606 $aIndians of North America$zSouthern States$xAntiquities 607 $aSouthern States$xHistory 607 $aSouthern States$xAntiquities 615 0$aMississippian culture 615 0$aChiefdoms 615 0$aIndians of North America$xHistory. 615 0$aIndians of North America$xAntiquities. 676 $a975.004/97 701 $aHudson$b Charles M$01470898 701 $aPluckhahn$b Thomas J$g(Thomas John),$f1966-$01470899 701 $aEthridge$b Robbie Franklyn$f1955-$01470900 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910778820703321 996 $aLight on the path$93682981 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02550nam 2200589 450 001 9910790660803321 005 20200903223051.0 010 $a90-04-25814-0 024 7 $a10.1163/9789004258143 035 $a(CKB)2550000001128210 035 $a(EBL)1460646 035 $a(OCoLC)860982816 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001002198 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11570783 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001002198 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10996050 035 $a(PQKB)11717063 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1460646 035 $a(nllekb)BRILL9789004258143 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1460646 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10778350 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL528844 035 $a(PPN)178930040 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001128210 100 $a20130809d2013 uy| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 12$aA new apophaticism $eAugustine and the redemption of signs /$fby Susannah Ticciati 210 1$aLeiden [Netherlands] :$cBrill,$d2013. 215 $a1 online resource (275 p.) 225 1 $aStudies in systematic theology,$x1876-1518 ;$vvolume 14 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a90-04-25771-3 311 $a1-299-97593-3 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $apart one. Shifting the focus away from the potential and failure of words to say something about God, the book suggests that the purpose of God-language is to transform human beings in their relationship with God. Augustine's doctrine of predestination is read, with the help of speech-act theory and the study of indexicals, for its power to effect redemptive change; and his De doctrina christiana is drawn upon for its semiotics. Together they make way for the hypothesis that God-language transforms human beings into better signs of God. 410 0$aStudies in systematic theology ;$vv. 14. 606 $aNegative theology$xChristianity$xHistory of doctrines 615 0$aNegative theology$xChristianity$xHistory of doctrines. 676 $a230/.14092 700 $aTicciati$b Susannah$01541611 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910790660803321 996 $aA new apophaticism$93793930 997 $aUNINA
