The aim of this book is to assess the explicit and hidden goals these citizenship tests are meant to achieve, as well as to analyse their intended and unintended effects. The book answers the questions of why the countries under consideration introduced citizenship tests and what effects these tests have produced. The latter question has been answered on the basis of an analysis of relevant statistics and an analysis of interviews with immigrants and stakeholders. Furthermore, the content of the tests presented to (possible) future citizens of Germany, the Netherlands and the UK has been thoroughly analysed. 410 0$aImmigration and asylum law and policy in Europe ;$vv. 31. 606 $aNaturalization$zGermany 606 $aNaturalization$zGreat Britain 606 $aNaturalization$zNetherlands 606 $aCitizenship$zGermany$vExaminations, questions, etc 606 $aCitizenship$zGreat Britain$vExaminations, questions, etc 606 $aCitizenship$zNetherlands$vExaminations, questions, etc 615 0$aNaturalization 615 0$aNaturalization 615 0$aNaturalization 615 0$aCitizenship 615 0$aCitizenship 615 0$aCitizenship 676 $a323.6/23 700 $aOers$b Ricky van$01500823 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910790519303321 996 $aDeserving citizenship$93749204 997 $aUNINA
