Its central aim is to explore a new method in Buddhist-Christian dialogue that has three steps. First, Buddhists are asked to reflect on biblical texts, second, the texts are analyzed by placing Christian and Buddhist perspectives side by side, and finally points of convergence and difference are established in order to provide a platform for further dialogue. The study succeeds in demonstrating that the method explored is a fruitful approach to interreligious dialogue which takes interpretations of biblical texts by the religious ?other? seriously, and manages to both affirm commonalities and face religious difference. 410 0$aStudies in systematic theology (Leiden, Netherlands) ;$vv. 10. 606 $aChristianity and other religions$xRelations$xTherava?da Buddhism 606 $aTherava?da Buddhism$xRelations$xChristianity 606 $aTherava?da Buddhism$zThailand 606 $aWisdom literature$xCriticism, interpretation, etc 615 0$aChristianity and other religions$xRelations$xTherava?da Buddhism. 615 0$aTherava?da Buddhism$xRelations$xChristianity. 615 0$aTherava?da Buddhism 615 0$aWisdom literature$xCriticism, interpretation, etc. 676 $a223/.060882943 700 $aHaug$b Kari Storstein$01544273 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910790253703321 996 $aInterpreting Proverbs 11:18-31, Psalm 73, and Ecclesiastes 9:1-12 in light of, and as a response to, Thai Buddhist interpretations$93798371 997 $aUNINA
