This subject is large and rapidly growing. These lectures are intended to introduce some key ideas in the field, and to form a basis for further study. The reader is assumed to be familiar with the rudiments of complex variable theory and of two-dimensional differential geometry, as well as some basic topics from topology. This third edition contains a number of minor additions and improvements: A historical survey has been added, the definition of Lattés map has been made more inclusive, and the écalle-Voronin theory of parabolic points is described. The résidu itératif is studied, and the material on two complex variables has been expanded. Recent results on effective computability have been added, and the references have been expanded and updated. Written in his usual brilliant style, the author makes difficult mathematics look easy. This book is a very accessible source for much of what has been accomplished in the field. 410 0$aAnnals of mathematics studies ;$vno. 160. 606 $aFunctions of complex variables 606 $aHolomorphic mappings 606 $aRiemann surfaces 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aFunctions of complex variables. 615 0$aHolomorphic mappings. 615 0$aRiemann surfaces. 676 $a515.93 676 $a515/.93 700 $aMilnor$b John W$g(John Willard),$f1931-$040532 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910458985103321 996 $aDynamics in one complex variable$9374228 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04733nam 2200685 450 001 9910789227403321 005 20230126211935.0 010 $a0-309-26784-6 010 $a0-309-26782-X 035 $a(CKB)3710000000103310 035 $a(EBL)3379168 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001119395 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11722521 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001119395 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11147268 035 $a(PQKB)11555637 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3379168 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3379168 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10863821 035 $a(OCoLC)893439472 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000103310 100 $a20130503h20132013 uy| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aEvaluation of PEPFAR /$fCommittee on the Outcome and Impact Evaluation of Global HIV/AIDS Programs Implemented under the Lantos-Hyde Act of 2008, Board on Global Health, Board on Children, Youth, and Families, Institute of Medicine of the National Academies 210 1$aWashington, District of Columbia :$cThe National Academies Press,$d[2013] 210 4$d©2013 215 $a1 online resource (849 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a0-309-26780-3 311 $a0-309-27267-X 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 327 $aIntroduction -- Background -- Evaluation scope and approach -- PEPFAR organization and investment -- PEPFAR organization and implementation -- U.S. funding for the PEPFAR initiative: main messages -- U.S. funding for the PEPFAR initiative -- PEPFAR programmatic activity -- Prevention: main messages -- Prevention -- Care and treatment: main messages -- Care and treatment -- Children and adolescents: main messages -- Children and adolescents -- Gender-main messages -- Gender -- Strengthening health systems for an effective HIV/AIDS response: main messages -- Strengthening health systems for an effective HIV/AIDS response -- Future of U.S. government involvement in the global response to HIV/AIDS -- Progress toward transitioning to a sustainable response in partner countries: main messages -- Progress toward transitioning to a sustainable response in partner countries -- PEPFAR's knowledge management: main messages -- PEPFAR's knowledge management. 330 $a"The U.S. government supports programs to combat global HIV/AIDS through an initiative that is known as the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). This initiative was originally authorized in the U.S. Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Act of 2003 and focused on an emergency response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic to deliver lifesaving care and treatment in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) with the highest burdens of disease. It was subsequently reauthorized in the Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde U.S. Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Reauthorization Act of 2008 (the Lantos-Hyde Act). Evaluation of PEPFAR makes recommendations for improving the U.S. government's bilateral programs as part of the U.S. response to global HIV/AIDS. The overall aim of this evaluation is a forward-looking approach to track and anticipate the evolution of the U.S. response to global HIV to be positioned to inform the ability of the U.S. government to address key issues under consideration at the time of the report release"--Publisher's description. 606 $aAIDS (Disease)$xPrevention$xGovernment policy$zUnited States$xEvaluation 606 $aHIV infections$xPrevention$xGovernment policy$zUnited States$xEvaluation 606 $aAIDS (Disease)$xPrevention$xInternational cooperation 606 $aHIV infections$xPrevention$xInternational cooperation 606 $aMedical assistance, American 606 $aEvaluation research (Social action programs)$zUnited States 607 $aUnited States$xGovernment policy$xEvaluation 615 0$aAIDS (Disease)$xPrevention$xGovernment policy$xEvaluation. 615 0$aHIV infections$xPrevention$xGovernment policy$xEvaluation. 615 0$aAIDS (Disease)$xPrevention$xInternational cooperation. 615 0$aHIV infections$xPrevention$xInternational cooperation. 615 0$aMedical assistance, American. 615 0$aEvaluation research (Social action programs) 676 $a362.19697/92 712 02$aInstitute of Medicine (U.S.).$bBoard on Global Health, 712 02$aNational Research Council (U.S.).$bBoard on Children, Youth, and Families, 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910789227403321 996 $aEvaluation of PEPFAR$93840275 997 $aUNINA
