With almost 200 million native speakers, it ranks among the top ten languages in the world in number of speakers. Based on both primary and secondary materials, the CASL Bangla grammar provides comprehensive coverage of the phonology, orthography, morphology, and syntax of Bangla. Plentiful examples of naturally-occurring sentences provide native orthography, Romanization, and morpheme-by-morpheme glossing along with free translations. Unlike many Romanizations of Bangla, our system eschews Sanskritic influence and instead reflects actual Bangla phonology. We also offer comparative information of use to linguists, highlighting features of Bangla shared with the South Asian sprachbund, such as light verb constructions, as well as those that differentiate Bangla from its Indo-Aryan relatives; for example, its unique NP structure. Written in an accessible style from a theory-neutral perspective, this work will be of use to linguistic researchers, language scholars, and students of Bangla. A formal grammar focusing on the morphology is an available companion work. 410 0$aMouton-CASL grammar series ;$vVolume 2. 606 $aBengali language$xGrammar 610 $aBangla. 610 $aBengali. 610 $aIndo-Aryan Languages. 615 0$aBengali language$xGrammar. 676 $a491.445 700 $aDavid$b Anne Boyle$01472344 702 $aConners$b Thomas J. 702 $aChaco?n$b Dustin A. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910788812603321 996 $aDescriptive grammar of Bangla$93787131 997 $aUNINA LEADER 06063oam 22009014a 450 001 9910141098603321 005 20240123210222.0 010 $a9786613667830 010 $a9780776626185 010 $a0776626183 010 $a9781280690891 010 $a1280690895 010 $a9780776619552 010 $a0776619551 024 8 $a10.26530/OAPEN_528194 035 $a(CKB)2670000000104694 035 $a(EBL)684121 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000534989 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11372708 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000534989 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10519179 035 $a(PQKB)10703762 035 $a(CEL)438980 035 $a(CaBNVSL)slc00226929 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3275282 035 $a(OCoLC)742333255 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse4677 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC684121 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4978386 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL4978386 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL366783 035 $a(FrMaCLE)OB-uop-866 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/43136 035 $a(VaAlCD)20.500.12592/qp75r9 035 $a(PPN)204523877 035 $a(ScCtBLL)22387f8c-609e-43e0-a959-c443da351829 035 $a(OCoLC)1163828021 035 $a(oapen)doab34774 035 $a(oapen)doab43136 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000104694 100 $a20110907d2011 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurm|#---uuuuu 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 04$aThe China Challenge$eSino-Canadian Relations in the 21st Century /$fedited by Huhua Cao and Vivienne Poy 210 $cLes Presses de l?Université d?Ottawa | University of Ottawa Press$d2011 210 1$aOttawa :$cUniversity of Ottawa Press,$d2011. 210 4$d©2011. 215 $a1 online resource (xvi, 294 pages) $cillustrations; digital, PDF file(s) 225 0 $aChina in the 21st century ;$v1 311 08$aPrint version: 9780776607641 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 327 $aPrefacce / Allan Rock -- Introduction : Canada's Response to China's Increasing Role in the World / Huhua Cao -- EVOLUTION OF CANADA-CHINA RELATIONSHIP. As China?s role in world politics becomes more central, understanding China becomes essential for Canadian policymakers and policy analysts in a variety of areas. Responding to this need, The China Challenge brings together perspectives from both Chinese and Canadian experts on the evolving Sino-Canadian relationship. It traces the history and looks into the future of Canada-China bilateral relations. It also examines how China has affected a number of Canadian foreign and domestic policy issues, including education, economics, immigration, labour and language. Recently, Canada-China relations have suffered from inadequate policymaking and misunderstandings on the part of both governments. Establishing a good dialogue with China must be a Canadian priority in order to build and maintain mutually beneficial relations with this emerging power, which will last into the future. 410 0$aChina in the 21st century (Ottawa, Ont.) ;$v1. 606 $aImmigrants$zCanada 606 $aChinois$zCanada 606 $aChinese$zCanada 607 $aChina$xRelations exterieures$zCanada 607 $aCanada$xRelations exterieures$zChine 607 $aChina$xForeign relations$zCanada 607 $aCanada$xForeign relations$zChina 615 0$aImmigrants 615 0$aChinois 615 0$aChinese 676 $a327.71051 700 $aHuhua Cao$4auth$01356299 701 $aCao$b Huhua$0909651 701 $aPoy$b Vivienne$f1941-$0879381 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910141098603321 996 $aThe China Challenge$93360633 997 $aUNINA
