This 80 percent participation rate reaffirms the importance countries place on data transparency in the globalized economy, which the initiatives promote. The wide participation can be attributed to the consultative process that has allowed for the development of a coherent program that takes account of countries' capabilities, delineates clear responsibilities between the IMF and participating countries, and establishes effective monitoring procedures to ensure the credibility of the standards for policymakers, capital markets, and the general public. The approach has also provided checks and balances and fostered accountability. The initiatives may provide insights for the promotion of similar international standards. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2006/102 606 $aDisclosure of information 606 $aFinance$vStatistics$xStandards 606 $aEconomic indicators$xStandards 606 $aStatistics$2imf 606 $aData Transmission Systems$2imf 606 $aMethodology for Collecting, Estimating, and Organizing Macroeconomic Data$2imf 606 $aData Access$2imf 606 $aData Collection and Data Estimation Methodology$2imf 606 $aComputer Programs: Other$2imf 606 $aData capture & analysis$2imf 606 $aEconometrics & economic statistics$2imf 606 $aSpecial Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS)$2imf 606 $aDissemination Standards Bulletin Board (DSBB)$2imf 606 $aFinancial statistics$2imf 606 $aData dissemination$2imf 606 $aData transmission systems$2imf 606 $aDatabases$2imf 606 $aFinance$2imf 607 $aSingapore$2imf 615 0$aDisclosure of information. 615 0$aFinance$xStandards. 615 0$aEconomic indicators$xStandards. 615 7$aStatistics 615 7$aData Transmission Systems 615 7$aMethodology for Collecting, Estimating, and Organizing Macroeconomic Data 615 7$aData Access 615 7$aData Collection and Data Estimation Methodology 615 7$aComputer Programs: Other 615 7$aData capture & analysis 615 7$aEconometrics & economic statistics 615 7$aSpecial Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) 615 7$aDissemination Standards Bulletin Board (DSBB) 615 7$aFinancial statistics 615 7$aData dissemination 615 7$aData transmission systems 615 7$aDatabases 615 7$aFinance 700 $aKester$b Anne$01464154 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund.$bStatistics Dept. 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910788700803321 996 $aIMF Data Standards Initiatives$93673716 997 $aUNINA
