CONCLUSIONS""; ""REFERENCES""; ""Data Appendix"" 330 3 $aWe analyze the flexibility of the Canadian labor market across provinces in both an interand intra-national context using macroeconomic data on employment, unemployment, participation, and (for Canada) migration and real wages. We find that Canadian labor markets respond in a similar manner to their U.S. counterparts and are more flexible than those in major euro area countries. Within Canada, the results indicate that labor markets in Ontario and provinces further west are more flexible, particularly with regard to migration, while those further east are less so. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2006/083 606 $aLabor market$zCanada 606 $aManpower policy$zCanada 606 $aLabor$2imf 606 $aEmigration and Immigration$2imf 606 $aDemand and Supply of Labor: General$2imf 606 $aEmployment$2imf 606 $aUnemployment$2imf 606 $aWages$2imf 606 $aIntergenerational Income Distribution$2imf 606 $aAggregate Human Capital$2imf 606 $aAggregate Labor Productivity$2imf 606 $aWages, Compensation, and Labor Costs: General$2imf 606 $aInternational Migration$2imf 606 $aLabour$2imf 606 $aincome economics$2imf 606 $aMigration, immigration & emigration$2imf 606 $aLabor markets$2imf 606 $aReal wages$2imf 606 $aMigration$2imf 606 $aLabor market flexibility$2imf 606 $aLabor market$2imf 606 $aEconomic theory$2imf 606 $aEmigration and immigration$2imf 607 $aCanada$2imf 615 0$aLabor market 615 0$aManpower policy 615 7$aLabor 615 7$aEmigration and Immigration 615 7$aDemand and Supply of Labor: General 615 7$aEmployment 615 7$aUnemployment 615 7$aWages 615 7$aIntergenerational Income Distribution 615 7$aAggregate Human Capital 615 7$aAggregate Labor Productivity 615 7$aWages, Compensation, and Labor Costs: General 615 7$aInternational Migration 615 7$aLabour 615 7$aincome economics 615 7$aMigration, immigration & emigration 615 7$aLabor markets 615 7$aReal wages 615 7$aMigration 615 7$aLabor market flexibility 615 7$aLabor market 615 7$aEconomic theory 615 7$aEmigration and immigration 700 $aSutton$b Bennett$01108577 701 $aBayoumi$b Tamim$0122763 701 $aSwiston$b Andrew$01462133 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund. 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910788700703321 996 $aShocking Aspects of Canadian Labor Markets$93673715 997 $aUNINA
