In cross-sectional data, we find that inflation volatility and product diversification are the main factors explaining differences in the frequency of price adjustments. We show that variance in the fraction of prices subject to change is a key determinant of inflation volatility in Sierra Leone, indicating that retail prices are sensitive to economic events. We explain variations in this fraction over time with past inflation and monetary growth, which are important policy variables. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2006/053 606 $aInflation (Finance)$zSierra Leone$xEconometric models 606 $aPricing$zSierra Leone$xEconometric models 606 $aInflation$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aPrice Level$2imf 606 $aDeflation$2imf 606 $aAgriculture: Aggregate Supply and Demand Analysis$2imf 606 $aPrices$2imf 606 $aConsumer price indexes$2imf 606 $aFood prices$2imf 606 $aInflation persistence$2imf 606 $aSticky prices$2imf 606 $aPrice indexes$2imf 607 $aSierra Leone$2imf 615 0$aInflation (Finance)$xEconometric models. 615 0$aPricing$xEconometric models. 615 7$aInflation 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aPrice Level 615 7$aDeflation 615 7$aAgriculture: Aggregate Supply and Demand Analysis 615 7$aPrices 615 7$aConsumer price indexes 615 7$aFood prices 615 7$aInflation persistence 615 7$aSticky prices 615 7$aPrice indexes 700 $aKovanen$b Arto$01464151 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund.$bAfrican Dept. 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910788700503321 996 $aWhy Do Prices in Sierra Leone Change So Often?
