This volume presents a new critical edition, translation and analysis of Themistius' letter to Julian about kingship and government, which survives mainly in Arabic, together with texts, translations and analyses of Julian's Letter to Themistius and Sopater's Letter to Himerius. The volume is completed with a text, translation and analysis of the other genuine work of Greek political theory to survive in Arabic, the Letter of Aristotle to Alexander, which dates from an earlier period and throws into relief the particular concerns of Themistius, Julian, and the rulers of the fourth-century Roman world. 517 3 $aThemistius, Julian, & Greek Political Theory under Rome 606 $aPolitical science$xPhilosophy$vEarly works to 1800 607 $aRome$xPolitics and government$y30 B.C.-476 A.D 607 $aRome$xKings and rulers 615 0$aPolitical science$xPhilosophy 676 $a937.080922 700 $aSwain$b Simon$0176530 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910787619303321 996 $aThemistius, Julian and Greek political theory under Rome$93703087 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01109nam0 22002651i 450 001 UON00261294 005 20231205103713.338 100 $a20050215d2001 |0itac50 ba 101 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $aScritti d'Africa$ebibliografia cronologica della letteratura africana edita in Italia dal 1913$fa cura di Giovanni Nucci 210 $a[Roma]$cIstituto Italiano per l'Africa e l'Oriente$dstampa 2001 215 $a193 p.$d24 cm 606 $aLETTERATURE AFRICANE$xBibliografia$3UONC022772$2FI 620 $aIT$dRoma$3UONL000004 676 $a016.896$cBIBLIOGRAFIA DELLE LETTERATURE AFRICANE$v21 702 1$aNUCCI$bGiovanni$3UONV153564 712 $aIstituto italiano per l'Africa e l'Oriente$3UONV251443$4650 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20240220$gRICA 899 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$2UONSI 912 $aUON00261294 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI AOC LING AA a 011 $eSI AA 27065 5 011 996 $aScritti d'Africa$91237284 997 $aUNIOR
