The report describes that the insurance penetration and density in HKSAR is among the top 10 in the world. Foreign-owned insurers are dominant in the HKSAR insurance sector, and account for about 72 percent of total assets as at end-2012. The long-term insurance industry is highly concentrated, while the market share of general insurance industry is more evenly distributed. All except one of the top-10 insurance groups are all foreign owned, with much larger consolidated operations compared to their operations in HKSAR. The Insurance Authority is responsible for regulating and supervising the insurance industry of the HKSAR. It is supported by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, a government department in the HKSAR. A self-regulatory system is used to supervise the conduct of business of intermediaries. 410 0$aIMF Staff Country Reports; Country Report ;$vNo. 2014/206 606 $aInsurance$zChina$zHong Kong$xEvaluation 606 $aInsurance$xState supervision$zChina$zHong Kong 606 $aFinance: General$2imf 606 $aInsurance$2imf 606 $aIndustries: Financial Services$2imf 606 $aCriminology$2imf 606 $aPension Funds$2imf 606 $aNon-bank Financial Institutions$2imf 606 $aFinancial Instruments$2imf 606 $aInstitutional Investors$2imf 606 $aInsurance Companies$2imf 606 $aActuarial Studies$2imf 606 $aMonetary Systems$2imf 606 $aStandards$2imf 606 $aRegimes$2imf 606 $aGovernment and the Monetary System$2imf 606 $aPayment Systems$2imf 606 $aBankruptcy$2imf 606 $aLiquidation$2imf 606 $aIllegal Behavior and the Enforcement of Law$2imf 606 $aFinance$2imf 606 $aInsurance & actuarial studies$2imf 606 $aDistributed ledgers$2imf 606 $aCorporate crime$2imf 606 $awhite-collar crime$2imf 606 $aInsurance companies$2imf 606 $aVirtual currencies$2imf 606 $aSolvency$2imf 606 $aAnti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT)$2imf 606 $aFinancial institutions$2imf 606 $aTechnology$2imf 606 $aFinancial sector policy and analysis$2imf 606 $aCrime$2imf 606 $aFinancial services industry$2imf 606 $aTechnological innovations$2imf 606 $aDebt$2imf 606 $aMoney laundering$2imf 607 $aHong Kong Special Administrative Region, People's Republic of China$2imf 615 0$aInsurance$xEvaluation. 615 0$aInsurance$xState supervision 615 7$aFinance: General 615 7$aInsurance 615 7$aIndustries: Financial Services 615 7$aCriminology 615 7$aPension Funds 615 7$aNon-bank Financial Institutions 615 7$aFinancial Instruments 615 7$aInstitutional Investors 615 7$aInsurance Companies 615 7$aActuarial Studies 615 7$aMonetary Systems 615 7$aStandards 615 7$aRegimes 615 7$aGovernment and the Monetary System 615 7$aPayment Systems 615 7$aBankruptcy 615 7$aLiquidation 615 7$aIllegal Behavior and the Enforcement of Law 615 7$aFinance 615 7$aInsurance & actuarial studies 615 7$aDistributed ledgers 615 7$aCorporate crime 615 7$awhite-collar crime 615 7$aInsurance companies 615 7$aVirtual currencies 615 7$aSolvency 615 7$aAnti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) 615 7$aFinancial institutions 615 7$aTechnology 615 7$aFinancial sector policy and analysis 615 7$aCrime 615 7$aFinancial services industry 615 7$aTechnological innovations 615 7$aDebt 615 7$aMoney laundering 676 $a368.00951212021 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910786746903321 996 $aPeople?s Republic of China?Hong Kong Special Administrative Region$93716324 997 $aUNINA
