John Kekes argues that the present moral and political uncertainties are due to a deep change in our society from a dogmatic to a pluralistic view of values. Dogmatism is committed to there being only one justifiable system of values. Pluralism recognizes many such systems, and yet it avoids a chaotic relativism according to which all values are in the end arbitrary. Maintaining that good lives must be reasonable, but denying that they must conform to one true pattern, Kekes develops and justifies a pluralistic account of good lives and values, and works out its political, moral, and personal implications. 606 $aPluralism 606 $aValues 606 $aEthics 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aPluralism. 615 0$aValues. 615 0$aEthics. 676 $a171/.7 700 $aKekes$b John$0918692 701 $aKekes$b John$0918692 701 $aKekes$b John$0918692 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910455017903321 996 $aThe morality of pluralism$92460570 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00777nam a2200229 i 4500 001 991000863539707536 005 20020507102453.0 008 970307s1969 us ||| | eng 035 $ab10140219-39ule_inst 035 $aLE00638171$9ExL 040 $aDip.to Fisica$bita 084 $a621.3.8 100 1 $aFlores, Ivan$025370 245 10$aComputer organization /$cIvan Flores 260 $aEnglewood Cliffs :$bPrentice-Hall,$c1969 300 $a371 p. ;$c23 cm. 907 $a.b10140219$b21-09-06$c27-06-02 912 $a991000863539707536 945 $aLE006 621.3.8 FLO$g1$i2006000007672$lle006$o-$pE0.00$q-$rl$s- $t0$u0$v0$w0$x0$y.i10166464$z27-06-02 996 $aComputer organization$9186664 997 $aUNISALENTO 998 $ale006$b01-01-97$cm$da $e-$feng$gus $h0$i1 LEADER 05253nam 2200577 450 001 9910786460903321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a9988-647-49-2 035 $a(CKB)3710000000112102 035 $a(EBL)1690599 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001325533 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11727112 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001325533 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11516339 035 $a(PQKB)10095210 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1690599 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1690599 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10870449 035 $a(OCoLC)879948833 035 $a(PPN)254804497 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000112102 100 $a20140523h20132013 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aAfrica in contemporary perspective $ea textbook for undergraduate students /$fedited by Takyiwaa Manuh and Esi Sutherland-Addy ; Patrick Awuah Antwi, cover design 210 1$aLegon-Accra, Ghana :$cSub Saharan Publishers,$d2013. 210 4$dİ2013 215 $a1 online resource (532 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a9988-647-37-9 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references at the end of each chapters and index. 327 $aCover; Title Page; Copyright Page; Contents; ACKNOWLEDGMENTS; PREFACE; LIST OF TABLES; LIST OF MAPS; LIST OF FIGURES; NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS; INTRODUCTION; Institutional Foundations; Knowledge Production for Africa; Africa in Contemporary Perspective- Themes and Approaches; Resources for studying Africa; Conclusion; References; Endnotes; SECTION 1: AFRICA-GEOGRAPHY, POPULATION & LANGUAGE; CHAPTER 1. Unfortunately hardly any readers exist which bring together a body of knowledge on the themes, issues and debates which inform and animate research and teaching in African Studies particularly on the African continent. This becomes even more important when we consider the need for knowledge on Africa that is not Eurocentric or sensationalised, but driven from internal understandings of life and prospects in Africa. From the basic terms and fundamentals of errors to specific adjustment computations and spatial information analysis, this book covers the methodologies and tools that bring accuracy to surveying, GNSS, GIS, and other spatial technologies. Broad in scope yet rich in detail, the discussion avoids overly-complex theory in favor of practical techniques for students and professionals. This new sixth edition has been updated to align with the latest developments in this rapidly expanding field, and includes new video lessons and updated problems, including worked problems in STATS, MATRIX, ADJUST, and MathCAD. All measurement produces some amount of error; whether from human mistakes, instrumentation inaccuracy, or environmental features, these errors must be accounted and adjusted for when accuracy is critical. This book describes how errors are identified, analyzed, measured, and corrected, with a focus on least squares adjustment?the most rigorous methodology available. Apply industry-standard methodologies to error analysis and adjustment Translate your skills to the real-world with instruction focused on the practical Master the fundamentals as well as specific computations and analysis Strengthen your understanding of critical topics on the Fundamentals in Surveying Licensing Exam As spatial technologies expand in both use and capability, so does our need for professionals who understand how to check and adjust for errors in spatial data. Conceptual knowledge is one thing, but practical skills are what counts when accuracy is at stake; Adjustment Computations provides the real-world training you need to identify, analyze, and correct for potentially crucial errors. 606 $aSurveying$xMathematics 606 $aSpatial analysis (Statistics) 615 0$aSurveying$xMathematics. 615 0$aSpatial analysis (Statistics) 676 $a526.9 700 $aGhilani$b Charles D.$0885900 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910830154003321 996 $aAdjustment computations$94079486 997 $aUNINA
