The contributors explore what might constitute effective higher education provision, drawing on innovative practice from around the world and encouraging higher education practitioners to become more analytical and critical about their institutions, about their own roles, and about the ways in which they and their work serve their client-base. In so doing the book confronts the contextual conflicts that arise from political, social and fiscal agendas for higher education."--$cProvided by publisher. 606 $aEducation, Higher$vCross-cultural studies 606 $aComparative education 606 $aColleges of higher education$2bicssc 610 0$aComparative and International Education 610 0$aCurriculum 610 0$aGlobalization 610 0$aHigher Education 610 0$aManagement, Leadership and Governance 610 0$aTeaching Methods and Materials 615 0$aEducation, Higher 615 0$aComparative education. 615 7$aColleges of higher education 676 $a378 702 $aKerry$b Trevor 801 0$bUWO 801 1$bCaBNVSL 801 2$bCaBNVSL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910785947803321 996 $aInternational perspectives on higher education$93675724 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02893nam 22006854a 450 001 9910968816003321 005 20250325215116.0 010 $a9786611876975 010 $a9781281876973 010 $a1281876976 010 $a9789812565396 010 $a9812565396 035 $a(CKB)1000000000033730 035 $a(EBL)238312 035 $a(OCoLC)437151714 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000114708 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11143103 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000114708 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10124838 035 $a(PQKB)10025453 035 $a(WSP)00005090 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL238312 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10088369 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL187697 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC238312 035 $a(Perlego)849799 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000033730 100 $a20050712d2003 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 12$aA bridge not attacked $echemical warfare civilian research during World War II /$fHarold Johnston 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aRiver Edge, N.J. $cWorld Scientific$dc2003 215 $a1 online resource (274 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a9789812381538 311 08$a9812381538 311 08$a9789812381521 311 08$a981238152X 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aCONTENTS; Preface. Most of these were graduate students, working under the direction of professors at the California Institute of Technology (Cal tech) and the University of California (Berkeley). The first job on these projects was to make major improvements on gas masks. Later, most activities were done outdoors to assess the effects of terrain and meteorological conditions on the travel and dissipation of toxic gas clouds.
