STRASSLER 327 $aProbing Grand Unification Through Neutrino Oscillations Leptogenesis and Proton Decay 330 $a In August/September 2002, a group of 78 physicists from 50 laboratories in 17 countries met in Erice, Italy, to participate in the 40th Course of the International School of Subnuclear Physics. The purpose of the School was to focus attention on the theoretical and phenomenological developments in gauge theories, as well as in all the other sectors of subnuclear physics. Experimental highights from the most relevant sources of new data were presented and discussed, including the latest news on theoretical developments in quantizing the gravitational forces. It served to synchronize calendars in antiquity and was the subject of many myths and legends, including some modern ones. It was perceived as a red star for more than 400 years, but such reports were relegated to the Mediterranean region. Astronomically, Sirius is a very bright star. This, and its present close distance to us, argues in favor of it being the target of detailed studies of stellar structure and evolution. Its binary nature, with a companion that is one of the more massive white dwarfs, is an additional reason for such studies. This book collects the published information on Sirius in an attempt to derive a coherent picture of how this system came to look as it does. 410 0$aAstrophysics and space science library ;$vv. 354. 606 $aStars 607 $aSirius 615 0$aStars. 676 $a523.841 700 $aBrosch$b Noah$01512321 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910784977003321 996 $aSirius matters$93746161 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01676nam2 22003491i 450 001 UON00498106 005 20231205105402.432 010 $a26-00-00479-3 100 $a20191008d2001 |0itac50 ba 101 $afre 102 $aCH 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $aDépart des voyageurs et traversée de la Perse$fMarco Polo$gédité par Marie-Luce Chênerie, Michèle Guéret-Laferté et Philippe Ménard 210 $aGenève$cLibrairie Droz$d2001 215 $a285 p.$cill.$d18 cm. 316 $aDono Prof. Alberto Varvaro.$5IT-UONSI F.
