It examines how oral poets compose their recitations. Specifically, it is a study of the recitations of 17 separate master poets from the Island of Rote recorded over a period of 50 years. Each of these poets offers his version of what is culturally considered to be the ?same? ritual chant. These compositions are examined in detail and their oral formulae are carefully compared to one another. Professor James J. Fox is an anthropologist who carried out his doctoral field research on the Island of Rote in eastern Indonesia in 1965?66. In 1965, he began recording the oral traditions of the island and developed a close association with numerous oral poets on the island. After many subsequent visits, in 2006, he began a nine-year project that brought groups of oral poets to Bali for week-long recording sessions. Recitations gathered over a period of 50 years are the basis for this book.. 606 $aOral-formulaic analysis 606 $aOral tradition$zIndonesia$zRote Ndao 606 $aFolk poetry, Indonesian$zIndonesia$zRote Ndao 607 $aRote Ndao (Indonesia)$vPoetry 610 $aeastern indonesia 610 $aoral poetry 610 $aanthropology 610 $aDelhi University Students' Union 610 $aDengka language 610 $aDialect 610 $aMeno 610 $aRice 610 $aRinggou language 610 $aSacred language 610 $aTermanu language 615 0$aOral-formulaic analysis. 615 0$aOral tradition 615 0$aFolk poetry, Indonesian 676 $a398.2 700 $aFox$b James J.$0645677 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bUkMaJRU 912 $a9910137045103321 996 $aMaster poets, ritual masters$92126217 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01984oam 22006015 450 001 9910781957303321 005 20210607215843.0 010 $a0-8213-8661-1 024 7 $a10.1596/978-0-8213-8660-6 035 $a(CKB)2550000000058084 035 $a(OCoLC)769188449 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebrary10506402 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000534309 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11352220 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000534309 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10511273 035 $a(PQKB)11737666 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3050846 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3050846 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10506402 035 $a(OCoLC)757097736 035 $a(The World Bank)2011010618 035 $a(US-djbf)16686562 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000000058084 100 $a20110310d2011 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aBarriers to asset recovery : $ean analysis of the key barriers and recommendations for action /$fKevin Stephenson, Larissa Gray, Ric Power 210 1$aWashington, DC :$cWorld Bank,$d2011. 215 $apages cm 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 $a0-8213-8660-3 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 410 0$aWorld Bank e-Library. 517 1 $aBarriers to asset recovery :$ean analysis of the key barriers and recommendations for action 606 $aForfeiture$xCriminal provisions 606 $aSearches and seizures 615 0$aForfeiture$xCriminal provisions. 615 0$aSearches and seizures. 676 $a345/.0773 700 $aStephenson$b Kevin$f1962-$0140711 701 $aStephenson$b Kevin M.$f1962-$01471767 712 02$aStolen Asset Recovery Initiative. 801 0$bDLC 801 1$bDLC 801 2$bDLC 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910781957303321 996 $aBarriers to asset recovery$93684177 997 $aUNINA
