The volume provides reliable, up-to-date editions of all of the known royal inscriptions of Esarhaddon, a son of Sennacherib who ruled Assyria for twelve years (680-669 BC). Editions of 143 firmly identifiable texts (which mostly describe successful battles and the completion of building projects, all done ad maiorem gloriam deorum), 29 poorly preserved late Neo-Assyrian inscriptions that may be attributed to him, and 10 inscriptions commissioned by his mother Naqia (Zakutu) and his wife Esharra-hammat are included. To make this corpus more user-friendly to both specialist and laymen, each text edition (with its English translation) is supplied with a brief introduction containing general information, a catalogue containing basic information about all exemplars, a commentary containing further technical information and notes, and a comprehensive bibliography (arranged chronologically from earliest to latest). The volume also includes: (1) a general introduction to the reign of Esarhaddon, the corpus of inscriptions, previous studies, and dating and chronology; (2) translations of the relevant passages of three Mesopotamian chronicles; (3) 19 photographs of objects inscribed with texts of Esarhaddon; (4) indexes of museum and excavation numbers and selected publications; and (5) indexes of proper names (Personal Names; Geographic, Ethnic, and Tribal Names; Divine, Planet, and Star Names; Gate, Palace, Temple, and Wall Names; and Object Names). The book is accompanied by a CD-ROM containing transliterations of selected inscriptions arranged in a 'musical score' format. The Royal Inscriptions of the Neo-Assyrian Period (RINAP) series will present up-to-date editions of the royal inscriptions of a number of late Neo-Assyrian rulers, beginning with Tiglath-pileser III (744-727 BC). This new series is modeled on the publications of the now-defunct Royal Inscriptions of Mesopotamia (RIM) series and will carry on where its RIMA (Royal Inscriptions of Mesopotamia, Assyrian Periods) publications ended. The project is under the direction of G. Frame (University of Pennsylvania) and is supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities. 410 0$aRoyal inscriptions of the neo-Assyrian period ;$vv. 4. 606 $aKings and rulers$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00987694 606 $aCuneiform inscriptions, Akkadian$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00885196 606 $aAkkadian language$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00803982 606 $aFOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDY$xArabic$2bisacsh 606 $aCuneiform inscriptions, Akkadian 606 $aAkkadian language$vTexts 607 $aMiddle East$zAssyria$2fast 607 $aAssyria$xKings and rulers 607 $aAssyria$xHistory$vSources 608 $aTexts. 608 $aSources. 608 $aHistory. 615 7$aKings and rulers. 615 7$aCuneiform inscriptions, Akkadian. 615 7$aAkkadian language. 615 7$aFOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDY$xArabic. 615 0$aCuneiform inscriptions, Akkadian. 615 0$aAkkadian language 676 $a492/.1 700 $aEsarhaddon$cKing of Assyria,$f-669 B.C.$01479551 701 $aLeichty$b Erle$f1933-2016.$01479552 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910781704503321 996 $aThe Royal Inscriptions of Esarhaddon, King of Assyria (680-669 BC)$93695718 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04596nam 22006735 450 001 9910299051603321 005 20251113203106.0 010 $a9783642453984 010 $a3642453988 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-642-45398-4 035 $a(OCoLC)871179475 035 $a(MiFhGG)GVRL6VGL 035 $a(CKB)3710000000083706 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1636661 035 $a(MiFhGG)9783642453984 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-642-45398-4 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000083706 100 $a20140108d2014 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurun|---uuuua 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aEvolving Software Systems /$fedited by Tom Mens, Alexander Serebrenik, Anthony Cleve 205 $a1st ed. 2014. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2014. 215 $a1 online resource (xxiii, 404 pages) $cillustrations (some color) 225 0 $aGale eBooks 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a9783642453977 311 08$a364245397X 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aPart I Evolving Software Artefacts -- 1 An Overview of Requirements Evolution -- 2 Coupled Evolution of Software Meta models and Models -- 3 Software Product Quality Models -- Part II Techniques -- 4 Search Based Software Maintenance: Methods and Tools -- 5 Mining Unstructured Software Repositories -- 6 Leveraging Web 2.0 for Software Evolution -- Part III Evolution of Specific Types of Software Systems -- 7 Evolution of Web Systems -- 8 Runtime Evolution of Highly Dynamic Software -- 9 Evolution of Software Product Lines -- 10 Studying Evolving Software Ecosystems based on Ecological Models -- Part IV Appendices -- A Emerging Trends in Software Evolution -- B List of Acronyms -- C Glossary of Terms -- D Resources -- E Datasets. 330 $aDuring the last few years, software evolution research has explored new domains such as the study of socio-technical aspects and collaboration between different individuals contributing to a software system, the use of search-based techniques and meta-heuristics, the mining of unstructured software repositories, the evolution of software requirements, and the dynamic adaptation of software systems at runtime. Also more and more attention is being paid to the evolution of collections of inter-related and inter-dependent software projects, be it in the form of web systems, software product families, software ecosystems, or systems of systems. With this book, the editors present insightful contributions on these and other domains currently being intensively explored, written by renowned researchers in the respective fields of software evolution. Each chapter presents the state of the art in a particular topic, as well as the current research, available tool support, and remaining challenges. The book is complemented by a glossary of important terms used in the community, a reference list of nearly 1,000 papers and books, and tips on additional resources that may be useful to the reader (reference books, journals, standards and major scientific events in the domain of software evolution, and datasets). This book is intended for all those interested in software engineering, and more particularly, software maintenance and evolution. Researchers and software practitioners alike will find in the contributed chapters an overview of the most recent findings, covering a broad spectrum of software evolution topics. In addition, it can also serve as the basis of graduate or postgraduate courses on e.g., software evolution, requirements engineering, model-driven software development or social informatics. 606 $aSoftware engineering 606 $aElectronic data processing$xManagement 606 $aApplication software 606 $aSoftware Engineering 606 $aIT Operations 606 $aComputer and Information Systems Applications 615 0$aSoftware engineering. 615 0$aElectronic data processing$xManagement. 615 0$aApplication software. 615 14$aSoftware Engineering. 615 24$aIT Operations. 615 24$aComputer and Information Systems Applications. 676 $a004 676 $a005.1 676 $a005.7 676 $a005.74 702 $aMens$b Tom 702 $aSerebrenik$b Alexander 702 $aCleve$b Anthony 801 0$bMiFhGG 801 1$bMiFhGG 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299051603321 996 $aEvolving Software Systems$92232983 997 $aUNINA
