They analyze the rhetoric of language pictures in theological discourses and literary texts from various disciplinary perspectives, as well as the use of images as strategies of persuasion and defense. 330 $aWenn antike Autoren (ungeachtet ihrer religiösen Ausrichtung) über den oder zu dem Einen Gott sprechen, verwenden sie eine bildhaften Ausdrucksweise. Der Begriff ?Bild? subsumiert hierbei die rhetorische Stilisierung durch Tropen und Figuren, die Verwendung von Symbolen mit Verweisfunktion und graphische oder plastische Bilder in archäologisch-kunstgeschichtlichem Sinne. Die Beiträge aus der Klassischen Philologie, Theologie, Religionswissenschaft, Klassischen Archäologie, Iranistik und Judaistik thematisieren diesen vielschichtigen ?Griff zum Bild?: Sie stellen sich der Leitfrage, welche Bilder die Autoren bzw. Künstler mit welcher Intention verwenden, wenn sie die ?Ein-heit? Gottes ansprechen und funktionalisieren. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf der ?Rhetorik des Bildes?, d.h. der Verwendung rhetorischer Mittel in theologischen Diskursen und literarischen Texten sowie dem Umgang mit Bild und Bildlichkeit in Persuasions- und Abwehrstrategien.
