Kolodziejczyk. 330 $aThis is an extensive study, supplemented by an edition of relevant sources, of the diplomatic contacts between Poland-Lithuania and the Crimean Khanate between the early 15th and the late 18th century. It contains a chronology of mutual relations, a formal analysis of various types of documents, and a glimpse into the working of the Crimean chancery, where Genghisid and Islamic forms mixed with those borrowed from Christian Europe. The book provides a fascinating insight into the intercultural exchange between Catholic Poland (with Latin and then Polish as the main chancery language) and predominantly Orthodox Lithuania (with Ruthenian as the main chancery language) on the one hand, and the Muslim Crimean Khanate (with Khwarezmian Turkic and then Ottoman Turkish as the main chancery language) on the other. It depicts Eastern Europe as a zone of contact, where the relations between Slavs and Tatars were by no means always hostile. 410 0$aOttoman Empire and its heritage ;$vv. 47. 606 $aInternational relations 607 $aPoland$xForeign relations$zCrimean Khanate 607 $aCrimean Khanate$xForeign relations$zPoland 607 $aPoland$xForeign relations$yTo 1572$vTreaties 607 $aPoland$xForeign relations$y1572-1763$vTreaties 607 $aCrimean Khanate$xForeign relations$vTreaties 607 $aPoland$xForeign relations$zCrimean Khanate$vSources 607 $aCrimean Khanate$xForeign relations$zPoland$vSources 615 0$aInternational relations. 676 $a327.477 676 $a327.477104380903 700 $aKo?odziejczyk$b Dariusz$01184053 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910781480603321 996 $aThe Crimean Khanate and Poland-Lithuania$93868184 997 $aUNINA
