The conceptual emphasis here is on the relation between material culture and ethnicity. The author demonstrates that the history of the Sclavenes and the Antes begins only at around 500 AD. He also points to the significance of the archaeological evidence, which suggests that specific artefacts may have been used as identity markers. This evidence also indicates the role of local leaders in building group boundaries and in leading successful raids across the Danube. Because of these military and political developments, Byzantine authors began employing names such as Sclavines and Antes in order to make sense of the process of group identification that was taking place north of the Danube frontier. Slavic ethnicity is therefore shown to be a Byzantine invention. 410 0$aCambridge studies in medieval life and thought ;$v4th ser., 52. 517 3 $aHistory and archaeology of the Lower Danube Region ca. 500-700 606 $aSlavs$zLower Danube River Region$xHistory 606 $aSlavs$zBalkan Peninsula$xHistory 606 $aSlavs$xEthnic identity 606 $aSlavs$xHistory 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology)$zLower Danube River Region 607 $aLower Danube River Valley$xAntiquities, Slavic 615 0$aSlavs$xHistory. 615 0$aSlavs$xHistory. 615 0$aSlavs$xEthnic identity. 615 0$aSlavs$xHistory. 615 0$aExcavations (Archaeology) 676 $a949.6/01 700 $aCurta$b Florin$0443793 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910780280003321 996 $aThe making of the slavs$91888375 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04407nam 22007215 450 001 9910299813303321 005 20200704100624.0 010 $a1-4939-2504-0 010 $a1-4939-2503-2 024 7 $a10.1007/978-1-4939-2504-9 035 $a(CKB)2670000000618780 035 $a(EBL)2094378 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001501246 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11830220 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001501246 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11522613 035 $a(PQKB)10026712 035 $a(DE-He213)978-1-4939-2504-9 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC2094378 035 $a(PPN)186025718 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000618780 100 $a20150522d2015 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aOscillating Heat Pipes /$fby Hongbin Ma 205 $a1st ed. 2015. 210 1$aNew York, NY :$cSpringer New York :$cImprint: Springer,$d2015. 215 $a1 online resource (441 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$aPrint version: Ma, Hongbin. Starting with fundamental presentation of heat pipes, the focus is on oscillating motions and its heat transfer enhancement in a two-phase heat transfer system. The book covers thermodynamic analysis, interfacial phenomenon, thin film evaporation,  theoretical models of oscillating motion and heat transfer of single phase and two-phase flows, primary  factors affecting oscillating motions and heat transfer,  neutron imaging study of oscillating motions in an oscillating heat pipes, and nanofluid?s effect on the heat transfer performance in oscillating heat pipes.  The importance of thermally-excited oscillating motion combined with phase change heat transfer to a wide variety of applications is emphasized. This book is an essential resource and learning tool for senior undergraduate, graduate students, practicing engineers, researchers, and scientists working in the area of heat pipes. This book also ·       Includes detailed descriptions on how an oscillating heat pipe is fabricated, tested, and utilized ·       Covers fundamentals of oscillating flow and heat transfer in an oscillating heat pipe ·       Provides general presentation of conventional heat pipes  . 606 $aThermodynamics 606 $aHeat engineering 606 $aHeat transfer 606 $aMass transfer 606 $aElectronic circuits 606 $aPower electronics 606 $aEngineering Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T14000 606 $aElectronic Circuits and Devices$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P31010 606 $aPower Electronics, Electrical Machines and Networks$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T24070 615 0$aThermodynamics. 615 0$aHeat engineering. 615 0$aHeat transfer. 615 0$aMass transfer. 615 0$aElectronic circuits. 615 0$aPower electronics. 615 14$aEngineering Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer. 615 24$aElectronic Circuits and Devices. 615 24$aPower Electronics, Electrical Machines and Networks. 676 $a620 676 $a621.317 676 $a621.3815 676 $a621.4021 700 $aMa$b Hongbin$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0720640 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299813303321 996 $aOscillating Heat Pipes$91412163 997 $aUNINA
