606 $aAlpha Level 606 $aAnalphabetismus und Migration 606 $aGeschlecht 606 $aAlter 606 $aLebenssituation 606 $aGrundbildung 606 $aLiteralita?t 606 $aAnalphabeten 606 $aIlletrismus 606 $aSchriftschwa?che 606 $aErwachsenenbildung 615 4$aAlpha Level 615 4$aAnalphabetismus und Migration 615 4$aGeschlecht 615 4$aAlter 615 4$aLebenssituation 615 4$aGrundbildung 615 4$aLiteralita?t 615 4$aAnalphabeten 615 4$aIlletrismus 615 4$aSchriftschwa?che 615 4$aErwachsenenbildung 702 $aGrotlu?schen$b Anke$4edt 702 $aRiekmann$b Wibke$4edt 801 0$bWaxmann 801 1$bWaxmann 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996354441703316 996 $aFunktionaler Analphabetismus in Deutschland$92780378 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01577nam 2200493Ia 450 001 9910697270503321 005 20230902161947.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002386215 035 $a(OCoLC)645492121 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002386215 100 $a20100701d1994 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aAdjustable bias column end joint assembly$b[electronic resource] /$finventor, Richard E. A deeply nuanced ethnography of historical consciousness, it challenges many cross-cultural investigations of youth, for its key actors are not adults but schoolchildren. Lesley Sharp refutes dominant assumptions that African children are the helpless victims of postcolonial crises, incapable of organized, sustained collective thought or action. She insists instead on the political agency of Malagasy youth who, as they decipher their current predicament, offer potent, historicized critiques of colonial violence, nationalist resistance, foreign mass media, and schoolyard survival. Sharp asserts that autobiography and national history are inextricably linked and therefore must be read in tandem, a process that exposes how political consciousness is forged in the classroom, within the home, and on the street in Madagascar.
