The bowls are from the Schøyen Collection, which has some 650 texts in different varieties of Aramaic: Jewish Aramaic, Mandaic and Syriac, and forms the largest collection of its kind anywhere in the world. This volume presents editions of sixty-four Jewish Aramaic incantation bowls, with accompanying introductions, translations, philological notes, photographs and indices. The themes covered include the magical divorce and the accounts of the wonder-working sages ?anina ben Dosa and Joshua bar Pera?ia. It is the first of a multi-volume project that aims to publish the entire Schøyen Collection of Aramaic incantation bowls. 410 0$aManuscripts in the Schøyen Collection ;$v20. 606 $aIncantation bowls$zIraq$9lat$2NLI$8PreferredLanguageHeading 606 $aIncantations, Aramaic$vCatalogs$9lat$2NLI$8PreferredLanguageHeading 606 $aIncantations, Assyro-Babylonian$9lat$2NLI$8PreferredLanguageHeading 606 $aInscriptions, Aramaic$9lat$2NLI$8PreferredLanguageHeading 606 $aJewish magic$xHistory$9lat$2NLI$8PreferredLanguageHeading 615 7$aIncantation bowls 615 7$aIncantations, Aramaic 615 7$aIncantations, Assyro-Babylonian 615 7$aInscriptions, Aramaic 615 7$aJewish magic$xHistory 676 $a492/.2 700 $aShaked$b Shaul$0156654 701 $aFord$b James Nathan$01502084 701 $aBhayro$b Siam$0689872 701 $aMorgenstern$b Matthew$01502085 701 $aVilozny$b Naama$01502086 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910779888703321 996 $aAramaic bowl spells$93729600 997 $aUNINA
