I begin by explaining what sort of phonetic material, according to Aristotle, can be a significans and a phônê. To that end, I provide a physiological account of which animal sounds count as phônê, as well as a psychological evaluation of the cognitive content of the phônai under consideration in De Interpretatione: names, verbs, and assertive sentences. I then turn to noêmata, which, for Aristotle, are the psychological reference and significata of names, verbs and assertive sentences. I explain what, for Aristotle, are the logical properties a significatum must have in order to be signified by the phonetic material of a name, verb or assertive sentence, and why noêmata can fulfil those logical conditions. Finally, I elucidate the significans-significatum relation without making use of the modern semantic triangle. This approach is consonant with Aristotle?s methodology and breaks new ground by exploring the connection between the linguistic and psychological aspects of Aristotle?s theory of signification. 410 0$aBeitra?ge zur Altertumskunde 606 $aSignification (Logic) in literature 606 $aPsychology in literature 606 $aGreek literature$xHistory and criticism 610 $aAristotle. 610 $aDe Interpretatione. 610 $aLanguage. 610 $aPsychology. 610 $aSignification. 615 0$aSignification (Logic) in literature. 615 0$aPsychology in literature. 615 0$aGreek literature$xHistory and criticism. 676 $a160 686 $aCD 2067$2rvk 700 $aNoriega-Olmos$b Simo?n$f1974-$01469043 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910779728203321 996 $aAristotle's Psychology of Signification$93680440 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02387nam 22006013a 450 001 9910917276303321 005 20250204000020.0 035 $a(CKB)36719705900041 035 $a(ScCtBLL)d380f21a-98f1-446f-9a51-7893f717d80c 035 $a(OCoLC)1166570707 035 $a(Perlego)2339746 035 $a(oapen)doab36581 035 $a(EXLCZ)9936719705900041 100 $a20250204i20162020 uu 101 0 $ager 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 04$aDas Heroon von Trysa, 13 B$fAlice Landskron 210 $cHolzhausen$d2016 210 1$a[s.l.] :$cHolzhausen,$d2016. 215 $a1 online resource (1 p.) 311 08$a9783902976444 311 08$a3902976446 330 $aThe study examines the friezes of the Heroon of Trysa in context of Lycian culture and society and interprets the selection of the picture themes. In a very exceptional way the friezes visualize Greek, Lycian and Persian subjects and contents which characterize the world of the Lycians and meet the requirements of the tomb owner. The second part includes images, supplements, tables, and lists of images. The first part of the 2-volume publication includes an introduction, the status of research, typological and iconographical analysis of the friezes, chapters on the style, the interpretation of the Heroon, and a catalogue, including description and technical information on the friezes, and bibliographical abbreviations. http://e-book.fwf.ac.at/o:874 The second part includes images, supplements, tables, lists of images http://e-book.fwf.ac.at/o:875 606 $aHistory$2bicssc 610 $aAmazonen 610 $aBritish Museum 610 $aGreek Classic 610 $aGreek Myths 610 $aGriechische Klassik 610 $aGriechische Mythen 610 $aHeroon 610 $aKentaur 610 $aKentaurenschlacht 610 $aLapithen 610 $aLeukippiden 610 $aLycia 610 $aLycian Dynasts 610 $aLykien 610 $aLykische Dynasten 610 $aSarkophag 610 $aTrysa 610 $aWien 615 7$aHistory 700 $aLandskron$b Alice$01222615 801 0$bScCtBLL 801 1$bScCtBLL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910917276303321 996 $aDas Heroon von Trysa, 13 B$94323137 997 $aUNINA
