Although economic explanations for the Great Recession have proliferated, the political causes and consequences of the crisis have received less systematic attention. Politics in the New Hard Times is the first book to focus on the Great Recession as a political crisis, one with both political sources and political consequences. The authors examine variation in crises over time and across countries, rather than treating these events as undifferentiated shocks. Chapters also explore how crisis has forced the redefinition and reinforcement of interests at the level of individual attitudes and in national political coalitions. Throughout, the authors stress that the Great Recession is only the latest in a long history of international economic crises with significant political effects-and that it is unlikely to be the last. Systems for recycling and reusing precious metals and rare-earth minerals contained in used and discarded electronics are introduced in this book. The target audience is not academic researchers in the resource management and ecology fields but, rather, citizens who are concerned about our future environment and want to do something for the future. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Applied Sciences and Technology,$x2191-530X 606 $aManufactures 606 $aRefuse and refuse disposal 606 $aMetals 606 $aCivil engineering 606 $aManufacturing, Machines, Tools, Processes$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T22050 606 $aWaste Management/Waste Technology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/U31001 606 $aMetallic Materials$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Z16000 606 $aCivil Engineering$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T23004 615 0$aManufactures. 615 0$aRefuse and refuse disposal. 615 0$aMetals. 615 0$aCivil engineering. 615 14$aManufacturing, Machines, Tools, Processes. 615 24$aWaste Management/Waste Technology. 615 24$aMetallic Materials. 615 24$aCivil Engineering. 676 $a604.6 700 $aNakamura$b Takashi$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0348129 702 $aHalada$b Kohmei$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299699803321 996 $aUrban Mining Systems$92507770 997 $aUNINA
