Angesichts vorwiegend qualitativer Studiendesigns in der demenzbezogenen Musiktherapieforschung eröffnet sich mit dem Einsatz der in diesem Bereich bisher vernachlässigten Zeitreihenanalyse ein alternativer quantitativ-methodischer Ansatz. Das Hauptaugenmerk der Untersuchung lag auf der prozessualen Analyse von videografierten Musiktherapiesitzungen eines sechsmonatigen Zeitraums mittels spezifischer Ratinginstrumente zur Erfassung der Kommunikationsfähigkeit, des Wohlbefindens und des Grads positiver Emotionen im Ausdrucksverhalten demenziell erkrankter Menschen.
