To increase research community understanding of the operational demands placed on naval operations and to facilitate discover between these two groups, the NRC's Ocean Studies Board, working with ONR, convened fire previous symposiums on tactical oceanography. The sixth and latest symposium in this series was held February 1999 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
