In the last few decades, however, this attitude has changed radically. Natural philosophy has increasingly been regarded as a crucial aspect of late antique thought. Furthermore, several studies have outlined the impressive historical legacy of Neoplatonic physics. Building on this new interest, the ten papers published here concentrate on Neoplatonic philosophy of nature from Plotinus to Simplicius, and on its main conceptual features and its relation to the previous philosophical and scientific traditions. The papers were presented at a conference sponsored by the European Science Foundation in Castelvecchio Pascoli in June 2006. This volume makes an important contribution to the understanding of Greek Neoplatonism and its historical significance. 410 0$aPhilosophia antiqua ;$vv. 115. 606 $aNeoplatonism$vCongresses 606 $aPhilosophy of nature$vCongresses 606 $aPhysics$xPhilosophy$vCongresses 615 0$aNeoplatonism 615 0$aPhilosophy of nature 615 0$aPhysics$xPhilosophy 676 $a113.0938 701 $aChiaradonna$b Riccardo$0281403 701 $aTrabattoni$b Franco$0224334 712 12$aEuropean Science Foundation Exploratory Workshop 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910778432503321 996 $aPhysics and philosophy of nature in Greek Neoplatonism$91761049 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03109nam 2200685Ia 450 001 9910970169503321 005 20251116191618.0 010 $a1-134-37754-1 010 $a1-134-37755-X 010 $a1-280-37410-1 010 $a9786610374106 010 $a0-203-08802-6 024 7 $a10.4324/9780203088029 035 $a(CKB)1000000000360180 035 $a(EBL)256890 035 $a(OCoLC)275189377 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000195872 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11168286 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000195872 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10130209 035 $a(PQKB)11603762 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC256890 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL256890 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10163615 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL37410 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000360180 100 $a20041021d2005 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aMaking journalists $ediverse models, global issues /$fedited by Hugo de Burgh ; foreword by James Curran 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aLondon $cRoutledge$d2005 215 $a1 online resource (313 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a0-415-31501-8 311 08$a0-415-31502-6 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aBOOK COVER; HALF-TITLE; TITLE; COPYRIGHT; CONTENTS; CONTRIBUTORS; FOREWORD; INTRODUCTION; 1.
