Debrix and Barder mobilize different concepts-horror, agonal sovereignty, the pulverization of the flesh, or the notion of an inhumanity-to-come-to shed light on past and prese 410 0$aInterventions 606 $aBiopolitics 606 $aTerrorism 606 $aWar on Terrorism, 2001-2009 606 $aPolitical violence 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aBiopolitics. 615 0$aTerrorism. 615 0$aWar on Terrorism, 2001-2009. 615 0$aPolitical violence. 676 $a327.101 700 $aDebrix$b Francois.$0864404 701 $aBarder$b Alexander D$0973252 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910457532503321 996 $aBeyond biopolitics$92214229 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04655oam 2200757 450 001 9910778060003321 005 20230920152607.0 010 $a1-282-23936-8 010 $a9786612239366 010 $a0-226-03265-5 024 7 $a10.7208/9780226032658 035 $a(CKB)1000000000773713 035 $a(EBL)448525 035 $a(OCoLC)432428872 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000105681 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11128601 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000105681 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10101903 035 $a(PQKB)10484556 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC448525 035 $a(DE-B1597)523227 035 $a(OCoLC)1135588099 035 $a(DE-B1597)9780226032658 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL448525 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10317893 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL223936 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000773713 100 $a20080326h2009 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n#|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aArrernte present, Arrernte past $einvasion, violence, and imagination in Indigenous central Australia /$fDiane Austin-Broos 210 1$aChicago :$cUniversity of Chicago Press,$d2009. 210 4$d©2009. 215 $a1 online resource (343 pages) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 18$a0-226-03264-7 311 18$a0-226-03263-9 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references (p. 299-316) and index. 327 $tFront matter --$tContents --$tMaps and Illustrations --$tAcknowledgments --$tNote on Orthography --$tAbbreviations --$tIntroduction --$t1. During that time the Arrernte were the subject of intense curiosity, and the earliest accounts of their lives, beliefs, and traditions were a seminal influence on European notions of the primitive. The first study to address the Arrernte's contemporary situation, Arrernte Present, Arrernte Past also documents the immense sociocultural changes they have experienced over the past hundred years. Employing ethnographic and archival research, Diane Austin-Broos traces the history of the Arrernte as they have transitioned from a society of hunter-gatherers to members of the Hermannsburg Mission community to their present, marginalized position in the modern Australian economy. While she concludes that these wrenching structural shifts led to the violence that now marks Arrernte communities, she also brings to light the powerful acts of imagination that have sustained a continuing sense of Arrernte identity. 606 $aAranda (Australian people)$xMissions$zAustralia$zHermannsburg Region (N.T.) 606 $aAranda (Australian people)$xLand tenure 606 $aAranda (Australian people)$xCultural assimilation 606 $aLutherans$xMissions$zAustralia$zHermannsburg Region (N.T.)$xHistory 606 $aLand reform$zAustralia$zHermannsburg Region (N.T.)$xHistory 606 $aAboriginal Australians 610 $ainvasion, violence, violent, imagination, imagine, indigenous peoples, central australia, australian, native population, anthropology, anthropological, arrernte, aranda, arunta, arrarnta, aboriginal, mparntwe, northern territory, sociocultural changes, cultural studies, culture, ethnography, archival research, hunter-gatherers, community, marginalization, marginalized populations, identity, missions, hermannsburg region, assimilation, race relations, racism. 615 0$aAranda (Australian people)$xMissions 615 0$aAranda (Australian people)$xLand tenure. 615 0$aAranda (Australian people)$xCultural assimilation. 615 0$aLutherans$xMissions$xHistory. 615 0$aLand reform$xHistory. 615 0$aAboriginal Australians 676 $a305.899/915 700 $aAustin-Broos$b Diane J$01143986 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bNCSU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910778060003321 996 $aArrernte present, Arrernte past$93762641 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00799nam0 2200265 450 001 9910871200203321 005 20240715144317.0 010 $a978-88-28-85753-2 100 $a20240715d2024----km y0itay50 ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $ay 001yy 200 1 $aEnte ecclesiastico, beni religiosi e attività di culto$eprofili giuridici$fAndrea Bettetini 205 $a2. ed. 210 $aMilano$cGiuffrè Francis Lefebvre$d2024 215 $aX, 203 p.$d24 cm 676 $a342.450852$v23$zita 700 1$aBettetini,$bAndrea$0235321 801 0$aIT$bUNINA$gREICAT$2UNIMARC 901 $aBK 912 $a9910871200203321 952 $aII M 2$b2024/1004$fFGBC 959 $aFGBC 996 $aEnte ecclesiastico, beni religiosi e attività di culto$91768585 997 $aUNINA
