The two works differ considerably in nature and origins: On Sight (Part 1) is a sketchy surgical manual on eye afflictions, perhaps originating in the African continent, and On Anatomy (Part 2) is an allusive account of basic human anatomy, perhaps originating in north Greece. Each text is interpreted in its own right and in the wider context of Hippocratic and other medical writing. Both content and language are closely analysed. The conclusions reached impact on important questions relating to the origin, constitution and dissemination of the Hippocratic Corpus. 410 0$aStudies in ancient medicine ;$vv. 33. 606 $aMedicine, Greek and Roman 606 $aVision disorders$vEarly works to 1800 606 $aHuman anatomy$vEarly works to 1800 615 0$aMedicine, Greek and Roman. 615 0$aVision disorders 615 0$aHuman anatomy 676 $a610.938 701 $aCraik$b Elizabeth M$0186311 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910777310903321 996 $aTwo Hippocratic treatises on sight and on anatomy$93728959 997 $aUNINA
