This is done through an analysis of changes in the hierarchical structures that regulate the internal organization of both the EP as a whole and the individual party groups. In addition, the changing pattern of coalition formation between party groups across time and legislative procedure is analyzed. The trends of internal development examined suggest that the increases in EP power that have occurred since the creation of the cooperation procedure by the Single European Act in 1987 have caused a fundamental shift in the character of the European Parliament as a legislative institution. Prior to 1987 the European Parliament, despite direct election and several small attempts to increase its powers, served primarily as a chamber of debate where much more was discussed than accomplished. 410 0$aCambridge studies in comparative politics. 517 3 $aThe European Parliament & Supranational Party System 606 $aPolitical parties$zEuropean Union countries 606 $aCoalitions 615 0$aPolitical parties 615 0$aCoalitions. 676 $a341.24/24 700 $aKreppel$b Amie$f1968-$01556441 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910777090903321 996 $aThe European Parliament and Supranational Party System$93819130 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03556nam 2200697Ia 450 001 9910518202503321 005 20251101110040.0 010 $a1-282-29613-2 010 $a9786612296130 010 $a3-11-021775-9 024 7 $a10.1515/9783110217759 035 $a(CKB)1000000000790278 035 $a(EBL)453765 035 $a(OCoLC)501961910 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000397184 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11287857 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000397184 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10342836 035 $a(PQKB)10196580 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC453765 035 $a(DE-B1597)36413 035 $a(OCoLC)979882766 035 $a(DE-B1597)9783110217759 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/77266 035 $a(oapen)doab77266 035 $a(ODN)ODN0002483378 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000790278 100 $a20090521d2009 uy 0 101 0 $ager 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aBriefwechsel unter Einschluss des Briefwechsels von Luise Adelgunde Victorie Gottsched$hBand 3$i1734-1735 /$fJohann Christoph Gottsched ; herausgegeben und bearbeitet von Detlef Doring, Rudiger Otto und Michael Schlott ; unter Mitarbeit von Franziska Menzel 210 $aBerlin ;$aNew York $cW. de Gruyter$dc2009 210 1$aBerlin ;$aBoston : $cDe Gruyter, $d[2009] 210 4$d©2009 215 $a1 online resource (599 p.) 225 0 $aJohann Christoph Gottscheds Briefwechsel 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a3-11-021561-6 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index.
