In the sixteenth century, classicist tendencies range from humanist traditions focusing on Horace and the teachings of rhetoric, via Pietro Bembo's canonization of a 'second antiquity' in the works of the fourteenth-century classics, Petrarch and Boccaccio, to the Aristotelianism of the second half of the century. Correspondingly, the various tendencies to destabilize or to subvert or contradict these manifold and historically dynamic 'classicisms' need to be distinguished as so many 'anticlassicisms'. This volume, after discussing the history and possible implications of the label 'anticlassicism' in Renaissance studies, differentiates and analyzes these 'anticlassicisms.' It distinguishes the various forms of opposition to 'classicisms' as to their scope (on a scale between radical poetological dissension to merely sectorial opposition in a given literary genre) and to their alternative models, be they authors (like Dante) or texts. At the same time, the various chapters specify the degree of difference or erosion inherent in anticlassicist tendencies with respect to their 'classicist' counterparts, ranging from implicit 'system disturbances' to open, intended antagonism (as in Bernesque poetry), with a view to establishing an overall picture of this field of phenomena for the first time. 606 $aClassicism 615 0$aClassicism. 676 $a801.95 702 $aFo?cking$b Marc 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910774764503321 996 $aA companion to Anticlassicisms in the Cinquecento$93365545 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01983nas 2200409 n 450 001 990008993290403321 005 20240229084333.0 011 $a0022-474X 035 $a000899329 035 $aFED01000899329 035 $a(Aleph)000899329FED01 035 $a000899329 091 $2CNR$aP 00014592 100 $a20161109a19659999km-y0itaa50------ba 101 0 $aeng 110 $aauu-------- 200 1 $aJournal of stored products research 207 1$a1965- 210 $aOxford$cPergamon Press 326 $aTrimestrale 452 0$12001$aJournal of stored products research 530 0 $aJournal of stored products research 675 $a641 712 02$aAgricultural Research Council$bPest Infestation Laboratory 801 0$aIT$bACNP$c20090723 859 4 $uhttp://acnp.cib.unibo.it/cgi-ser/start/it/cnr/dc-p1.tcl?catno=7236&person=false&language=ITALIANO&libr=&libr_th=unina1$zBiblioteche che possiedono il periodico 901 $aSE 912 $a990008993290403321 958 $aBiblioteca Centralizzata.
