Closely aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 13.1, Keith Moser's study aims to strengthen resilience to climate-related hazards by drawing on ecological theories developed by French philosophers in conversation with biosemiotic principles. Not only does the novel theoretical framework offered by biosemiotic interpretations of the universe and our place in it represent an indispensable conceptual tool for understanding the unprecedented medical challenges at the dawn of a new millennium, but it also beckons us to think harder about the environmental crisis that threatens the continued existence of all sentient beings who call the biosphere home. This book also highlights the richness, diversity, and utility of the ecological theories developed by the French philosophers Michel Serres, Edgar Morin, Jacques Derrida, Dominique Lestel, and Michel Onfray in addition to how they engage with biosemiotic principles. Taken together, the book probes the scientific, linguistic, philosophical, and ethical implications of biosemiotic theories in a post-pandemic world from an environmental and medical perspective. 410 0$aSustainable Development Goals Series,$x2523-3092 606 $aEcocriticism 606 $aEuropean literature 606 $aLiterature, Modern$y20th century 606 $aLiterature, Modern$y21st century 606 $aHuman ecology$xHistory 606 $aContinental philosophy 606 $aEcocriticism 606 $aEuropean Literature 606 $aContemporary Literature 606 $aEnvironmental History 606 $aContinental Philosophy 615 0$aEcocriticism. 615 0$aEuropean literature. 615 0$aLiterature, Modern 615 0$aLiterature, Modern 615 0$aHuman ecology$xHistory. 615 0$aContinental philosophy. 615 14$aEcocriticism. 615 24$aEuropean Literature. 615 24$aContemporary Literature. 615 24$aEnvironmental History. 615 24$aContinental Philosophy. 676 $a570.14 676 $a809.9336 700 $aMoser$b Keith A.$01199429 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 912 $a9910767579503321 996 $aContemporary French Environmental Thought in the Post-COVID-19 Era$93655822 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03659nam 2200769z- 450 001 9910566458803321 005 20220506 035 $a(CKB)5680000000037793 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/81004 035 $a(oapen)doab81004 035 $a(EXLCZ)995680000000037793 100 $a20202205d2022 |y 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurmn|---annan 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aWastewater Treatment by Adsorption and/or Ion-Exchange Processes for Resource Recovery 210 $aBasel$cMDPI - Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute$d2022 215 $a1 online resource (120 p.) 311 08$a3-0365-3926-3 311 08$a3-0365-3925-5 330 $aThe triple-R model (reduce, reuse, and recycle) is the essential concept of the circular economy. Due to population growth, the recovery of added-value products from wastes has become a challenge. Wastewaters of different origin (urban, industrial, mining, textile, distillery, and microbial culture, among others) are rich in energy, water, and nutrient sources that can be recovered and reused within a circular economy framework. Recently, wastewater treatment plants have been converted into biofactories, since they can convert waste into new products (water, nutrients, fertilizers, biomethane, electricity, heat, etc.) with a minimal environmental impact. In this context, adsorption and ion-exchange, as well as the integration of both processes, have been proposed as promising technologies for the treatment of wastewaters for resource recovery. Therefore, the aim of this Special Issue, entitled "Wastewater Treatment by Adsorption and/or Ion-Exchange Processes for Resource Recovery", is to promote these two processes as innovative and environmentally friendly alternatives for the recovery of secondary raw materials from by-products or waste streams. These processes could improve the environmental, economic, and social impacts of the currently used wastewater treatment techniques. 606 $aEnvironmental science, engineering and technology$2bicssc 606 $aHistory of engineering and technology$2bicssc 606 $aTechnology: general issues$2bicssc 610 $aadsorption 610 $aadsorption technology 610 $abio-economy 610 $acalcium carbonate 610 $acircular economy 610 $aclay 610 $acoating 610 $acorn stream 610 $adesorption 610 $adye 610 $aeco-adsorbents 610 $agranular ferric hydroxide 610 $agreen membranes 610 $agroundwater remediation 610 $aheavy metal sorption 610 $ahybrid biosorbent 610 $ahydroxyapatite 610 $aisotherm 610 $akinetics 610 $amicro-sized adsorbents 610 $an/a 610 $ananofiltration 610 $aoptimization process 610 $aorganic acid 610 $aphosphate removal 610 $aresource recovery 610 $aresponse surface methodology 610 $asurface-active compounds 610 $athermodynamic 610 $aultra-sonication 615 7$aEnvironmental science, engineering and technology 615 7$aHistory of engineering and technology 615 7$aTechnology: general issues 700 $aVecino$b Xanel$4edt$01319549 702 $aReig$b Mo?nica$4edt 702 $aVecino$b Xanel$4oth 702 $aReig$b Mo?nica$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910566458803321 996 $aWastewater Treatment by Adsorption and$93033953 997 $aUNINA
