The so-called Centrifugal Particle Receiver (CentRec) uses small bauxite particles as absorber, heat transfer and storage media at the same time. Due to advantageous optical and thermal properties, the particles can be heated up to 1000 degree Celsius without sintering in the storage. High thermal efficiencies at high outlet temperatures are expected indicating a promising way for cost reduction in solar power tower applications. A prototype in laboratory scale was designed, built and tested in order to demonstrate the feasibility and potential of the proposed concept. The expected simple control capability of the receiver could be verified and the target temperature of 900 degree Celsius successfully demonstrated. A thermal efficiency of > 85% is calculated by a validated corresponding numerical model for a particle outlet temperature of 900 degree Celsius and a design power of 1 MW/m². 606 $aSolar power plants$xDesign and construction 615 0$aSolar power plants$xDesign and construction. 676 $a621.31244 700 $aWu$b Wei$0344741 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910818920203321 996 $aA centrifugal particle receiver for high-temperature solar applications$93932293 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04262nam 22006735 450 001 9910760298503321 005 20240322024419.0 010 $a9789819960941 010 $a9819960940 024 7 $a10.1007/978-981-99-6094-1 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC30821147 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL30821147 035 $a(DE-He213)978-981-99-6094-1 035 $a(PPN)272916056 035 $a(CKB)28548898500041 035 $a(OCoLC)1406412140 035 $a(EXLCZ)9928548898500041 100 $a20231023d2024 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aMachining and Additive Manufacturing $eSelect Proceedings of CPIE 2023 /$fedited by Vishal Santosh Sharma, Uday Shanker Dixit, Ajay Gupta, Rajeev Verma, Varun Sharma 205 $a1st ed. 2024. 210 1$aSingapore :$cSpringer Nature Singapore :$cImprint: Springer,$d2024. 215 $a1 online resource (187 pages) 225 1 $aLecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering,$x2195-4364 311 08$aPrint version: Sharma, Vishal Santosh Machining and Additive Manufacturing Singapore : Springer,c2023 9789819960934 327 $aAssessment Of Sustainable Additive Manufacturing Drivers: A MCDM Approach -- Exploring Sustainable Manufacturing: A Comprehensive Review of Literature and Practices -- Performance Analysis Of 3D Printed Impellers for Portable Vacuum Cleaner -- 3D Printed Electronics: Role of Materials and Processes -- Electrochemical Micromachining: A Review on Principles, Processes, And Applications -- Friction And Wear Characteristics of Engine Oil Through FourBall Tester -- Recent Trends In 4th Industrial Revolution for A Sustainable Future?
