In 1922, the liberal foreign minister was assassinated by right-wing conspirators-and became a symbolic figure of Weimar democracy. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his death, this yearbook's contributions examine Rathenau's achievements and ambiguities in the context of the transition from Imperial Germany to the Republic.
