It is a breakthrough in Prudentian scholarship which unifies the differing disciplines of history, archaeology, literature and art history in arguing that Prudentius and his envisaged Spanish audience cannot be fully understood in isolation from their environment in late fourth- and early fifth-century Spain. Paula Hershkowitz focuses on Prudentius' Peristephanon, his collection of verses celebrating the deaths of martyrs, and places these poems within the context of Prudentius' world, uniquely employing material, visual and textual remains as evidence for its religious, social and cultural affiliations. It also draws on this material evidence to contextualise Prudentius' awareness of the significance of the visual as a means of promoting beliefs against the background of this crucial formative period in religious history when many of his Spanish audience were not yet fully committed to the Christian faith. 606 $aMartyrs in literature 606 $aChristian poetry, Latin$xHistory and criticism 607 $aSpain$xHistory$yTo 711 607 $aSpain$xSocial conditions$yTo 1800 615 0$aMartyrs in literature. 615 0$aChristian poetry, Latin$xHistory and criticism. 676 $a871/.0109 700 $aHershkowitz$b Paula$f1944-$01075263 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910163909603321 996 $aPrudentius, Spain, and late antique Christianity$92584283 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03240nam 22005775 450 001 9910746962003321 005 20251009095753.0 010 $a3-031-40299-5 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-031-40299-9 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC30764511 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL30764511 035 $a(PPN)272736996 035 $a(CKB)28443816300041 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-031-40299-9 035 $a(OCoLC)1402101994 035 $a(EXLCZ)9928443816300041 100 $a20230930d2023 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aUsing MATLAB to Solve Statistical Problems $eA Practical Guide to the Book ?Statistics for Chemical and Process Engineers? /$fby Yuri A.W. In addition to short sections on the required theory, the focus of the book is on detailed, line-by-line MATLAB code for solving the specific problems. Furthermore, solutions are provided for standard problems that can then be re-used and modified as necessary. End-of-chapter questions allow the reader to independently test the knowledge acquired. Content Detailed solutions for problems in Data visualisation Hypothesis testing Linear and nonlinear regression Design of experiments Time-series analysis System identification Target Groups Students and engineers that wish to solve statistical problems using Matlab Professors and instructors that wish to use Matlab in their courses The Author Prof. Dr. Yuri A.W.
