It is dedicated to the analysis and conceptualisation of transnational societies. This work moves beyond the mere depiction of transborder socialities by shedding light on the fundamental structures underpinning them. It investigates the mechanics of their formation and evolution, their demise or transformation into diasporas. It theorises transmigrants as plural humans embedded and socialised in multiple settings, and whose activities are sustained and framed by three key social institutions: transnational families, businesses and associations. It sheds light on the construction of an intersubjective moral framework regulating the relations between migrants and non-migrants. Finally, it examines the space-time continuum of transnational societies. Thomas Lacroix is a geographer, CNRS director of research at the Centre for International Research of Sciences Po Paris and a fellow of the Institut Convergence Migrations. 606 $aPolitical science 606 $aEmigration and immigration$xGovernment policy 606 $aEmigration and immigration 606 $aInternational organization 606 $aPolitics and International Studies 606 $aMigration Policy 606 $aHuman Migration 606 $aInternational Organization 615 0$aPolitical science. 615 0$aEmigration and immigration$xGovernment policy. 615 0$aEmigration and immigration. 615 0$aInternational organization. 615 14$aPolitics and International Studies. 615 24$aMigration Policy. 615 24$aHuman Migration. 615 24$aInternational Organization. 676 $a304.8 676 $a305.8 700 $aLacroix$b Thomas$0781981 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910746296803321 996 $aThe Transnational Society$93568544 997 $aUNINA
