When Nafir Suriyya-"The Clarion of Syria"-was penned between September 1860 and April 1861, its author Butrus al-Bustani, a major figure in the modern Arabic Renaissance, had witnessed his homeland undergo unprecedented violence in what many today consider Lebanon's first civil war. Written during Ottoman and European investigations into the causes and culprits of the atrocities, The Clarion of Syria is both a commentary on the politics of state intervention and social upheaval, and a set of visions for the future of Syrian society in the wake of conflict. This translation makes a key historical document accessible for the first time to an English audience. An introduction by the translators sketches the history that led up to the civil strife in Mt. Lebanon, outlines a brief biography of Butrus al-Bustani, and provides an authoritative overview of the literary style and historiography of Nafir Suriyya. Rereading these pamphlets in the context of today's political violence, in war-torn Syria and elsewhere in the Arab world, helps us gain a critical and historical perspective on sectarianism, foreign invasions, conflict resolution, Western interventionism, and nationalist tropes of reconciliation. 606 $aHISTORY / Middle East / General$2bisacsh 607 $aSyria$xHistory$y19th century 610 $aarab world. 610 $aarabic renaissance. 610 $abrief biography. 610 $abutrus al bustani. 610 $acivil strife. 610 $acivil war. 610 $aconflict resolution. 610 $acritical perspective. 610 $aculprits of atrocities. 610 $aenglish audience. 610 $aeuropean investigations. 610 $aforeign invasions. 610 $ahistorical perspective. 610 $ahistoriography. 610 $ahomeland. 610 $akey historical document. 610 $alebanon. 610 $aliterary style. 610 $amt lebanon. 610 $anafir suriyya. 610 $anationalist tropes of reconciliation. 610 $apolitical violence. 610 $asectarianism. 610 $asyria. 610 $aunprecedented violence. 610 $awar. 610 $awestern interventionism. 615 7$aHISTORY / Middle East / General. 676 $a079.5691 700 $aal-Bustani$b Butrus, $4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0645933 702 $aHanssen$b Jens, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aSafieddine$b Hicham, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910321956403321 996 $aThe Clarion of Syria$92055518 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03610nam 22006255 450 001 9910735781803321 005 20230719192312.0 010 $a9789811999482 010 $a9811999481 024 7 $a10.1007/978-981-19-9948-2 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC30657018 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL30657018 035 $a(DE-He213)978-981-19-9948-2 035 $a(PPN)272250732 035 $a(CKB)27675024800041 035 $a(OCoLC)1390922281 035 $a(EXLCZ)9927675024800041 100 $a20230719d2023 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aOptimising the Software Development Process with Artificial Intelligence /$fedited by José Raúl Romero, Inmaculada Medina-Bulo, Francisco Chicano 205 $a1st ed. 2023. 210 1$aSingapore :$cSpringer Nature Singapore :$cImprint: Springer,$d2023. 215 $a1 online resource (349 pages) 225 1 $aNatural Computing Series,$x2627-6461 311 08$aPrint version: Romero, José Raúl Optimising the Software Development Process with Artificial Intelligence Singapore : Springer Singapore Pte. All chapters were written by leading experts in the field and include practical and reproducible examples. Following the introductory chapter, Chapters 2-9 respectively apply AI techniques to the classic phases of the software development process: project management, requirement engineering, analysis and design, coding, cloud deployment, unit and system testing, and maintenance. Subsequently, Chapters 10 and 11 provide foundational tutorials on the AI techniques used in the preceding chapters: metaheuristics and machine learning. Given its scope and focus, the book represents a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners and students with a basic grasp of software engineering. 410 0$aNatural Computing Series,$x2627-6461 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aSoftware engineering 606 $aMachine learning 606 $aArtificial Intelligence 606 $aSoftware Engineering 606 $aMachine Learning 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 0$aSoftware engineering. 615 0$aMachine learning. 615 14$aArtificial Intelligence. 615 24$aSoftware Engineering. 615 24$aMachine Learning. 676 $a005.1028563 700 $aRomero$b José Raúl$01379061 701 $aMedina-Bulo$b Inmaculada$01379062 701 $aChicano$b Francisco$01362823 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910735781803321 996 $aOptimising the Software Development Process with Artificial Intelligence$93418539 997 $aUNINA
