In his first part, he addresses the generalities by dealing with the determinants of the establishment of fortifications in West Africa. Following a proposal for the classification of West African endogenous fortifications, it gives an overview of the different types of fortifications present from Senegal to Cameroon. In the second part, he presents the military and political history of the state entities of the left bank of the Fale?me? (the Fulani kingdom of Boundou, and the Malinke? kingdoms of Dantila, Sirimana, and Beledougou), as well as the defensive structures that served as the basis for this history. As much as possible, each ruin of fortifications is studied under an archaeological and historical approach. 410 0$aAfrican archaeology ;$vvolume 97. 410 0$aBAR international series ;$v3081. 606 $aFortification$zSenegal$xHistory 606 $aSlave trade$zSenegal$xHistory 615 0$aFortification$xHistory. 615 0$aSlave trade$xHistory. 676 $a355.7'09663 700 $aNsangou$b Jacques Aymeric$01371846 801 0$bStDuBDS 801 1$bStDuBDS 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910734342503321 996 $aLes fortifications endogenes au Senegal Oriental (17e?me - 19e?me siecle)$93401507 997 $aUNINA
