This volume places Burke in his historical context and carefully sets out the whole of Burke's philosophical contribution. It not only discusses the reception of Burker by his contemporaries, but also the impact of his ideas on politics and policy today. 410 0$aMajor Conservative and Libertarian Thinkers 606 $aBurke, Edmund, 1729-1797 606 $aConservatism 615 4$aBurke, Edmund, 1729-1797. 615 4$aConservatism. 676 $a320.5092 676 $a320.52092 700 $aO'Keeffe$b Dennis$01810743 801 0$bAU-PeEL 801 1$bAU-PeEL 801 2$bAU-PeEL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910962415703321 996 $aEdmund Burke$94362217 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04932nam 22006255 450 001 9910733707803321 005 20250626163953.0 010 $a9783319018546 010 $a331901854X 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-01854-6 035 $a(OCoLC)859157365 035 $a(MiFhGG)GVRL6YCS 035 $a(CKB)2670000000423180 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1398657 035 $a(MiFhGG)9783319018546 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-01854-6 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000423180 100 $a20130808d2014 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurun|---uuuua 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aInternational Joint Conference SOCO?13-CISIS?13-ICEUTE?13 $eSalamanca, Spain, September 11th-13th, 2013 Proceedings /$fedited by Álvaro Herrero, Bruno Baruque, Fanny Klett, Ajith Abraham, Václav Sná?el, André C.P.L.F. de Carvalho, Pablo García Bringas, Ivan Zelinka, Héctor Quintián, Emilio Corchado 205 $a1st ed. 2014. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2014. 215 $a1 online resource (xxxii, 741 pages) $cillustrations (some color) 225 1 $aAdvances in Intelligent Systems and Computing,$x2194-5365 ;$v239 300 $a"ISSN: 2194-5357." 311 08$a9783319018539 311 08$a3319018531 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aEvolutionary Computation and Optimization -- Intelligent Systems -- Applications -- Classification and Clustering Methods -- Systems, Man, and Cybernetics -- Data Mining for Industrial and Environmental Applications -- Soft Computing Methods in Bioinformatics -- Soft Computing Methods, Modeling and Simulation in Electrical Engineering -- Applications of Intelligent Methods for Security -- Infrastructure and Network Security -- Web 2.0. 330 $aThis volume of Advances in Intelligent and Soft Computing contains accepted papers presented at SOCO 2013, CISIS 2013 and ICEUTE 2013, all conferences held in the beautiful and historic city of Salamanca (Spain), in September 2013. Soft computing represents a collection or set of computational techniques in machine learning, computer science and some engineering disciplines, which investigate, simulate, and analyze very complex issues and phenomena.   After a through peer-review process, the 8th SOCO 2013 International Program Committee selected 40 papers which are published in these conference proceedings, and represents an acceptance rate of 41%. In this relevant edition a special emphasis was put on the organization of special sessions. Four special sessions were organized related to relevant topics as: Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Data Mining for Industrial and Environmental Applications, Soft Computing Methods in Bioinformatics, and Soft Computing Methods, Modelling and Simulation in Electrical Engineer.   The aim of the 6th CISIS 2013 conference is to offer a meeting opportunity for academic and industry-related researchers belonging to the various, vast communities of Computational Intelligence, Information Security, and Data Mining. The need for intelligent, flexible behaviour by large, complex systems, especially in mission-critical domains, is intended to be the catalyst and the aggregation stimulus for the overall event. After a through peer-review process, the CISIS 2013 International Program Committee selected 23 papers which are published in these conference proceedings achieving an acceptance rate of 39%. In the case of 4th ICEUTE 2013, the International Program Committee selected 11 papers which are published in these conference proceedings. The selection of papers was extremely rigorous in order to maintain the high quality of the conference and wewould like to thank the members of the Program Committees for their hard work in the reviewing process. This is a crucial process to the creation of a high standard conference and the SOCO, CISIS and ICEUTE conferences would not exist without their help.    . 410 0$aAdvances in Intelligent Systems and Computing,$x2194-5365 ;$v239 606 $aComputational intelligence 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aComputational Intelligence 606 $aArtificial Intelligence 615 0$aComputational intelligence. 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 14$aComputational Intelligence. 615 24$aArtificial Intelligence. 676 $a004.6 676 $a620 701 $aHerrero$b Alvaro$01423611 712 12$aInternational Conference on Computational Intelligence in Security for Information Systems$d(6th :$f2013 :$eSalamanca, Spain), 712 12$aICEUTE 2013$f(2013 :$eSalamanca, Spain), 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910733707803321 996 $aInternational joint conference SOCO'13-CISIS'13-ICEUTE'13$94201350 997 $aUNINA
