The role of women has largely been ignored, despite their widespread participation in the Revolution, and existing research on women has mainly focused on their achievements in the realm of women?s rights, which means that other aspects of women?s activism remain un-investigated. The aim of this book is twofold: first, it presents one of the very first studies of women?s resistance strategies and their resistance to consumerism in Iran; second, and in relation to the first objective, it attempts to demonstrate the biased nature of knowledge production in the studies of women in past societies, particularly the role of women in economics. This book therefore explores the public role of women and their efforts to revive Iran?s economy during and after the Constitutional Revolution. 606 $aConstitutional history$zIran 606 $aGovernment, Resistance to$zIran$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aWomen$xPolitical activity$zIran$xHistory$y20th century 607 $aIran$xHistory$y1905-1911 607 $aIran$xPolitics and government$y1905-1911 610 $aSociology 610 $aSocial Science 615 0$aConstitutional history 615 0$aGovernment, Resistance to$xHistory 615 0$aWomen$xPolitical activity$xHistory 676 $a305.42095509041 676 $a305.42095509041 700 $aDezhamkhooy$b Maryam$01099488 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 912 $a9910725084203321 996 $aWomen and the Politics of Resistance in the Iranian Constitutional Revolution$93367485 997 $aUNINA
