We estimate with a control function approach firm-level production functions augmented with two factors, the training stock per employee and digital technology use. We show that ADT use and employee training are substitutes in production, implying that an increase in the former negatively affects the marginal productivity of the latter, and that a decline in the cost of introducing ADT reduces employers' investment in training per employee. These findings point to challenges in realizing high levels of firm-sponsored training for employees in increasingly digital economies. 517 $aEIB Working Paper 2023/01 - Advanced digital technologies and investment in employee training 606 $aInformation technology 606 $aInformation technology$xSecurity measures 615 0$aInformation technology. 615 0$aInformation technology$xSecurity measures. 676 $a004 700 $aBrunello$b Giorgio$0118982 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910719763103321 996 $aEIB Working Paper 2023$93363744 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02541nam 2200577 450 001 9910809481903321 005 20230119162648.0 010 $a0-8173-9348-X 035 $a(CKB)4100000011921134 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC28433364 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL28433364 035 $a(OCoLC)1250083744 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)musev2_93996 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011921134 100 $a20230119d2021 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aBlessed are the peacemakers $esmall histories during World War II, letter writing, and family history methodology /$fSuzanne Kesler Rumsey 205 $a1st ed. 210 1$aTuscaloosa :$cThe University of Alabama Press,$d[2021] 210 4$dİ2021 215 $a1 online resource (233 pages) 311 $a0-8173-2090-3 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references (pages 207-210) and index. 327 $aConduit and platform -- Beginnings (early life) -- Conscription, nonresistance, and Civilian Public Service -- Leaving and nesting -- Ben's work and camp life at Sideling Hill -- Miriam's story : the first six months -- Finances and interpersonal conflicts -- The holidays -- Transition to Rhode Island -- Archives, family history, and the personal -- Conditions at the State Hospital in 1943 -- Daily life at the State Hospital -- Finances and more conflicts -- Conclusion. 330 $a"An uncommon and intimate account of the lives of two conscientious objectors"--$cProvided by publisher. 517 3 $aSmall histories during World War II, letter writing, and family history methodology 606 $aGenealogy$xAuthorship 606 $aLetter writing$zUnited States 606 $aConscientious objectors$zUnited States$vBiography 606 $aMarried people$zUnited States$vCorrespondence 606 $aPacifists$zUnited States$vBiography 606 $aWorld War, 1939-1945$xConscientious objectors$zUnited States$vBiography 615 0$aGenealogy$xAuthorship. 615 0$aLetter writing 615 0$aConscientious objectors 615 0$aMarried people 615 0$aPacifists 615 0$aWorld War, 1939-1945$xConscientious objectors 676 $a940.53162092273 700 $aRumsey$b Suzanne Kesler$f1977-$01611687 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910809481903321 996 $aBlessed are the peacemakers$93940052 997 $aUNINA
