The passage of the reauthorization of the North Korean Human Rights Act in October 2008 (P.L. 110-346) reasserted congressional interest in influencing executive branch policy toward North Korea. In addition to reauthorizing funding at original levels, the bill expresses congressional criticism of the implementation of the original 2004 law and adjusts some of the provisions relating to the Special Envoy on Human Rights in North Korea and the U.S. resettlement of North Korean refugees. Some outside analysts have pointed to the challenges of highlighting North Korea's human rights violations in the midst of the ongoing nuclear negotiations, as well as the difficulty in effectively reaching North Korean refugees as outlined in the law. Further, the law may complicate coordination on North Korea with China and South Korea. At this point, it remains unclear what focus the Obama Administration will place on human rights and refugees as it takes over the nuclear negotiations. 410 0$aCRS report for Congress. 606 $aHuman rights$zKorea (North) 606 $aRefugees$zKorea (North) 607 $aUnited States$xForeign relations$zKorea (North) 615 0$aHuman rights 615 0$aRefugees 676 $a323.095193 700 $aChanlett-Avery$b Emma$01360943 712 02$aLibrary of Congress.$bCongressional Research Service, 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910714686103321 996 $aCongress and U.S. policy on North Korean human rights and refugees$93379147 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01149nam0 22002891i 450 001 UON00413050 005 20231205104748.944 100 $a20121109d1967 |0itac50 ba 101 $ager$aGOT 102 $aDE 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $aFruchtbringender Lustgarte$fJustus Georg Schottel$gherausgegeben von Marianne Burkhard$gmit einem Nachwort von Max Wehrli 210 $aMünchen$cKösel-Verlag$dc1967 215 $a352 p., LXXVIII$d19 cm. 606 $aPOESIA TEDESCA$xSec. 17-19$3UONC064675$2FI 620 $aDE$dMünchen$3UONL003025 676 $a831$cPoesia tedesca$v21 700 1$aSCHOTTEL$bJustus Georg$3UONV211170$0709254 702 1$aBURKHARD$bMarianne$3UONV115881 702 1$aWEHRLI$bMax$3UONV085999 712 $aKösel-Verlag$3UONV272912$4650 801 $aIT$bSOL$c20240220$gRICA 899 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$2UONSI 912 $aUON00413050 950 $aSIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEO$dSI TED 20 I SCH 1 $eSI ST 3060 5 1 $sBuono 996 $aFruchtbringender Lustgarte$91342860 997 $aUNIOR
