John was a leading magnate in the Latin East, and his first-hand experience of the courts meant that he was well-placed to write authoritatively on his subject. His work is in French and describes in detail the procedures of the High Court of the kingdom of Jerusalem, and the law as administered there. The treatise has long been recognized as being of fundamental importance for the legal, institutional and social history of the Latin settlements in the Levant, and this is the first edition to take into account all the surviving medieval manuscripts and the first to be published since 1841. 410 0$aThe Medieval Mediterranean ;$v50. 517 3 $aLe Livre des Assises 606 $aCourts$zJerusalem$xHistory$vSources 606 $aFeudal law$zJerusalem$vSources 606 $aManuscripts, French 606 $aProcedure (Law)$zJerusalem$xHistory$vSources 607 $aJerusalem$xHistory$yLatin Kingdom, 1099-1244$vSources 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aCourts$xHistory 615 0$aFeudal law 615 0$aManuscripts, French. 615 0$aProcedure (Law)$xHistory 676 $a347.5694/42 702 $aEdbury$b Peter 801 0$bNL-LeKB 801 1$bNL-LeKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910450504403321 996 $aJohn of Ibelin$92584376 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01738oam 2200433 450 001 9910714190503321 005 20190319145039.0 035 $a(CKB)4100000007175267 035 $a(OCoLC)1050332959 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000007175267 100 $a20180830d2018 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurgn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aReview of the U.S. government's role in protecting international religious freedom $ehearing before the Subcommittee on National Security of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, House of Representatives, One Hundred Fifteenth Congress, first session, October 11, 2017 210 1$aWashington :$cU.S. Government Publishing Office,$d2018. 215 $a1 online resource (iii, 70 pages) $cillustrations 300 $a"Serial no. 115-61." 517 $aReview of the U.S. Government's Role in Protecting International Religious Freedom 606 $aFreedom of religion$xInternational cooperation 606 $aSecurity, International$xReligious aspects 606 $aPersecution$xPrevention 606 $aNational security$zUnited States 606 $aTerrorism$xPrevention 608 $aLegislative hearings.$2lcgft 615 0$aFreedom of religion$xInternational cooperation. 615 0$aSecurity, International$xReligious aspects. 615 0$aPersecution$xPrevention. 615 0$aNational security 615 0$aTerrorism$xPrevention. 801 0$bGPO 801 1$bGPO 801 2$bGPO 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910714190503321 996 $aReview of the U.S. government's role in protecting international religious freedom$93533714 997 $aUNINA
