Four different language strategies are explored: the basic colour strategy, the graded membership strategy, the category combination strategy and the basic modification strategy. These strategies are firmly rooted in empirical observations in natural languages, with a focus on compositionality at both the syntactic and semantic level. Through a series of in-depth experiments, this book discerns the impact of the environment, language and embodiment on the formation of basic colour systems. Finally, the experiments demonstrate how language users can invent their own language strategies of increasing complexity by combining primitive cognitive operators, and how these strategies can be aligned between language users through linguistic interactions. 410 0$aComputational models of language evolution ;$v3. 606 $aColor 606 $aInformation technology 606 $aLanguage and languages 606 $aPhilology 615 0$aColor. 615 0$aInformation technology. 615 0$aLanguage and languages. 615 0$aPhilology. 676 $a415.018 700 $aBleys$b Joris$0915693 801 2$bUkMaJRU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910136403803321 996 $aLanguage strategies for the domain of colour$92052700 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01620oam 2200445 450 001 9910704487503321 005 20130724140154.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002440816 035 $a(OCoLC)843450581 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002440816 100 $a20130517d2013 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 10$aFinal technical progress report $edevelopment of low-cost suspension heliostat, December 7, 2011-- December 6, 2012 /$fWilliam Bender 210 1$aGolden, Colorado :$cNational Renewable Energy Laboratory,$d2013. 215 $a1 online resource (12 pages) $ccolor illustrations 225 1 $aNREL/SR ;$v5200-57611 300 $aTitle from title screen (viewed on May 17, 2013). 300 $a"January 2013." 300 $a"NREL technical monitors: Harin Ullal, Kaitlyn VanSant, and Allison Gray." 300 $a"Prepared under subcontract no.
