C?est en 1997 que paraît sa Thèse d?État de 520 pages aux Presses Universitaires du Mirail à Toulouse : La loi du duel. Le code du point d?honneur dans l?Espagne des xvie-xviie siècles, qui fait autorité dans l?hispanisme international.
