CONCLUSION""; ""APPENDIX I""; ""APPENDIX II""; ""APPENDIX III""; ""REFERENCES"" 330 3 $aWe compute realized transfers implicit in IMF lending from 1973-2003, based on 2003 IMF repayment projections and promised debt relief. IMF lending rates to high-and middleincome countries fell short of industrial country borrowing rates by 30-150 basis points over the period as a whole, but exhibited a small premium after 1987. The subsidy received by low-income and HIPC countries was much higher (400-600 basis points, respectively). In 2002 NPV terms, cumulative transfers were 12-15 percent of 2002 GDP for the HIPCs, 2-3 percent for low income countries, and less than ¾ percent for the emerging market countries. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2005/008 606 $aLoans$zDeveloping countries 606 $aSubsidies$zDeveloping countries 606 $aBanks and Banking$2imf 606 $aFinancial Risk Management$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aIndustries: Financial Services$2imf 606 $aDebt$2imf 606 $aDebt Management$2imf 606 $aSovereign Debt$2imf 606 $aPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their Distributions$2imf 606 $aInterest Rates: Determination, Term Structure, and Effects$2imf 606 $aBanks$2imf 606 $aDepository Institutions$2imf 606 $aMicro Finance Institutions$2imf 606 $aMortgages$2imf 606 $aFinance$2imf 606 $aDebt relief$2imf 606 $aPersonal income$2imf 606 $aSDR interest rate$2imf 606 $aLoans$2imf 606 $aMarket interest rates$2imf 606 $aDebts, External$2imf 606 $aIncome$2imf 606 $aInterest rates$2imf 607 $aUnited States$2imf 615 0$aLoans 615 0$aSubsidies 615 7$aBanks and Banking 615 7$aFinancial Risk Management 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aIndustries: Financial Services 615 7$aDebt 615 7$aDebt Management 615 7$aSovereign Debt 615 7$aPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their Distributions 615 7$aInterest Rates: Determination, Term Structure, and Effects 615 7$aBanks 615 7$aDepository Institutions 615 7$aMicro Finance Institutions 615 7$aMortgages 615 7$aFinance 615 7$aDebt relief 615 7$aPersonal income 615 7$aSDR interest rate 615 7$aLoans 615 7$aMarket interest rates 615 7$aDebts, External 615 7$aIncome 615 7$aInterest rates 700 $aJoshi$b Priyadarshani$01462148 701 $aZettelmeyer$b Jeromin$01462149 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund.$bResearch Dept. 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910788527103321 996 $aImplicit Transfers in IMF Lending, 1973?2003$93670989 997 $aUNINA
