Pompeii's Ashes surveys a broad variety of such works, ranging from travelogues between ca. 1740 and 2010 to 250 years of fiction, including stage works, music, and films. The first two chapters provide an in-depth analysis of the excavation history and an overview of the reflections of travelers. The six remaining chapters discuss several clearly-defined genres: historical novels with pagan tendencies, and those with Christians and Jews as protagonists, contemporary adventures, time traveling, mock manuscripts, and works dedicated to Vesuvius. "Pompeii's Ashes" demonstrates how the eternal fascination with the oldest still-running archaeological projects in the world began, developed, and continue until now. 606 $aHISTORY / Ancient / Rome$2bisacsh 607 $aPompeii (Extinct city)$xIn literature 607 $aHerculaneum (Extinct city)$xIn literature 615 7$aHISTORY / Ancient / Rome. 676 $a809/.93358377256 700 $aMoormann$b Eric M.$0207255 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996234832903316 996 $aPompeii's ashes$91568896 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01190nas 2200385-a 450 001 9910726482503321 005 20230403213018.0 011 $a2161-9468 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2750212-0 035 $a(OCoLC)731676916 035 $a(CKB)2560000000075468 035 $a(CONSER)--2011202901 035 $a(EXLCZ)992560000000075468 100 $a20110620a20129999 o-- a 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aJournal of African diaspora archaeology and heritage 210 1$aWalnut Creek, CA :$cLeft Coast Press, Inc.,$d2012- 210 21$a[Leeds, UK] :$cManey Publishing 210 31$a[Abingdon, United Kingdom] :$cRoutledge 215 $aOnline resource 300 $aRefereed/Peer-reviewed 311 $a2161-9441 606 $aAfrican diaspora$xAntiquities$vPeriodicals 608 $aPeriodicals.$2fast 610 $aRegions & Countries - Africa 615 0$aAfrican diaspora$xAntiquities 676 $a909.04 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910726482503321 996 $aJournal of African diaspora archaeology and heritage$93380602 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02198oas 2200661 a 450 001 9910702816203321 005 20251106213014.0 011 $a2152-1158 035 $a(OCoLC)431927412 035 $a(CONSER) 2009231437 035 $a(CKB)1000000000805240 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000805240 100 $a20090820a20069999 ua a 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aDevelopment of improved trapping systems for invasive fruit flies that threaten U.S. agriculture ... annual report 210 $aWashington, D.C. $cU.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service 215 $cHTML files 606 $aFruit-flies$xIntegrated control$zUnited States$vPeriodicals 606 $aIntroduced insects$xIntegrated control$zUnited States$vPeriodicals 606 $aNonindigenous pests$xIntegrated control$zUnited States$vPeriodicals 606 $aInsect traps$zUnited States$vPeriodicals 606 $ainvasive species 606 $aInsect traps$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00974043 607 $aUnited States$2fast$1https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJtxgQXMWqmjMjjwXRHgrq 608 $aPeriodicals.$2fast 608 $aPeriodicals.$2lcgft 615 0$aFruit-flies$xIntegrated control 615 0$aIntroduced insects$xIntegrated control 615 0$aNonindigenous pests$xIntegrated control 615 0$aInsect traps 615 3$ainvasive species. 615 7$aInsect traps. 676 $a363 712 02$aMethyl Bromide Alternatives National Program (U.S.) 712 02$aUnited States.$bAgricultural Research Service. 801 0$bGPO 801 1$bGPO 801 2$bGPO 801 2$bDLC 801 2$bGPO 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bOCLCA 801 2$bGILDS 801 2$bOCLCF 801 2$bOCLCO 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bOSO 801 2$bOCLCO 801 2$bOCLCL 801 2$bOCLCQ 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910702816203321 996 $aDevelopment of improved trapping systems for invasive fruit flies that threaten U.S. agriculture ... annual report$93190698 997 $aUNINA
