Appointed in 1933 by men who sought to exclude women from positions of authority, Jean Royce navigated the precarious gendered environment of institutional life for thirty-five years. As gate-keeper and talent scout, she encouraged all who qualified, revealing herself out of sympathy with those who would preserve Queen's as Protestant men's club or English-Canadian enclave. Attentive to detail and internationalist in vision, she became the most powerful woman ever to work at Queens. Her forced retirement at 64 devastated her, but following her election by alumni to the Board of Trustees she played a key role in expanding educational opportunities for women.Spanning the first eight decades of the twentieth century, Jean Royce's life provides a lens for looking at working-class family life before the Great Depression, social mobility through education, feminism's continuing presence in the twentieth century, and the constraints and possibilities for single women in work, relationships, cultural life, and international travel. Centrally, her life provides a close look at the development and politics of a major Canadian university. 410 0$aStudies in gender and history. 606 $aCollege registrars$zCanada$vBiography 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aCollege registrars 676 $a378.713/72/092 700 $aHamilton$b Roberta$0919651 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910455959103321 996 $aSetting the agenda$92490079 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01899nam 2200493I 450 001 9910702781903321 005 20150106142247.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002430377 035 $a(OCoLC)899244801 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002430377 100 $a20150106j201401 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aAnalysis and simulation of the simplified aircraft-based paired approach concept with the ALAS alerting algorithm in conjunction with echelon and offset strategies /$fWilfredo Torres-Pomales [and three others] 210 1$aHampton, Virginia :$cNational Aeronautics and Space Administration, Langley Research Center,$dJanuary 2014. 215 $a1 online resource (vii, 67 pages) $ccolor illustrations 225 1 $aNASA/TM ;$v2014-218151 300 $aTitle from title screen (viewed Jan. 6, 2014). 300 $a"January 2014." 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references (pages 57-59). 606 $aSimulation$2nasat 606 $aAlgorithms$2nasat 606 $aAirports$2nasat 606 $aAvionics$2nasat 606 $aAircraft approach spacing$2nasat 606 $aAircraft maneuvers$2nasat 615 7$aSimulation. 615 7$aAlgorithms. 615 7$aAirports. 615 7$aAvionics. 615 7$aAircraft approach spacing. 615 7$aAircraft maneuvers. 700 $aTorres-Pomales$b Wilfredo$01391891 712 02$aLangley Research Center, 712 02$aUnited States.$bNational Aeronautics and Space Administration, 801 0$bGPO 801 1$bGPO 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910702781903321 996 $aAnalysis and simulation of the simplified aircraft-based paired approach concept with the ALAS alerting algorithm in conjunction with echelon and offset strategies$93491819 997 $aUNINA
