Like Travail and Verité, the later books in the series Les Quatre Evangiles, Fécondité has not previously received significant critical attention. This study reveals and interprets the less obvious aspects of the work, its biblical and mythical themes, its sources and genesis. It also adds to our knowledge of Zola?s later works through the examination of various ideological currents?particularly the impact of Malthusianism, its proponents and adversaries, and who among them Zola read in preparing this book. Fécondité deals with the particular problem of France?s declining birth-rate at the end of the nineteenth century and, more generally, with the problem of decadence and cultural renewal. By the time that he wrote Fécondité, Zola had abandoned his naturalist aesthetic of scientific objectivity, if not also his working methods as a novelist. This study shoes how his didactic concerns continually asserted themselves in the structure and the use of rhetorical techniques in Fécondité. Specialists in Zola, and others more generally interested in the French culture of the late nineteenth century, as well as the particular demographic problems that Zola treats in the work, and the relationship of literature to primitive mythology, should find this study of particular interest. 410 0$aUniversity of Toronto romance series ;$v21. 606 $aLITERARY CRITICISM / European / French$2bisacsh 608 $aElectronic books. 615 7$aLITERARY CRITICISM / European / French. 676 $a843/.8 700 $aBaguley$b David$0221634 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910460702203321 996 $aFe?condite? d'E?mile Zola$92055567 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03130nam 2200601 450 001 9910453750803321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a0-335-24695-8 035 $a(CKB)2550000001181199 035 $a(EBL)1595428 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001159903 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11690594 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001159903 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11115787 035 $a(PQKB)11125674 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1595428 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1595428 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10828039 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL561225 035 $a(OCoLC)868489376 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001181199 100 $a20111102d2014 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aHealth promotion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities /$fedited by Laurence Taggart and Wendy Cousins 210 1$aMaidenhead, Berkshire :$cOpen University Press,$d2014. 215 $a1 online resource (250 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a0-335-24694-X 311 $a1-306-29974-8 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aHealth Promotion for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; Health Promotion for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; Praise for this book; Contents; List of contributors; Foreword; Introduction; Part 1 The health and health promotion needs of people with intellectual disabilities; 1 Health issues for people with intellectual disabilities:the evidence base; 2 Health promotion and people with intellectual disabilities; Part 2 Health promotion evidence applied to practice; 3 Vision, hearing, and oral health; 4 Framing food choicesto improve health 327 $a5 Obesity6 Diabetes; 7 Epilepsy; 8 Cardiovascular disease; 9 Cancer; 10 Sexual health; 11 Mental health; 12 Substance abuse; 13 Ageing; Part 3 Health promotion in context; 14 Health promotion within families; 15 Health promotion in schools; 16 Physical activity, exercise, and sport; 17 The role of healthcare professionals; 18 Health checks; 19 Ethics; 20 Evaluating health promotion programmes; Index; Advert; Back Cover 330 $aThis book offers a wide range of health and social care professionals, the knowledge and strategies to address key issues, enabling and empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to enjoy healthier lives. 606 $aDevelopmentally disabled$xHealth and hygiene 606 $aPeople with disabilities$xHealth and hygiene 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aDevelopmentally disabled$xHealth and hygiene. 615 0$aPeople with disabilities$xHealth and hygiene. 676 $a362.2 676 $a613.0875 701 $aTaggart$b Laurence$0876739 701 $aCousins$b Wendy$0876740 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910453750803321 996 $aHealth promotion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities$91957634 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01667oam 2200421Ka 450 001 9910698674203321 005 20090522154112.0 035 $a(CKB)4330000001996510 035 $a(OCoLC)299095560 035 $a(EXLCZ)994330000001996510 100 $a20090122d2009 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aTechnical approach for the development of DOE Building America Builders Challenge technology information packages$b[electronic resource] /$fD.R.
