The exploration of mental imagery represents a new and important area within clinical psychology, but arguably one still in its infancy. While mental imagery has featured prominently in recent theoretical accounts of disorders as diverse as post-traumatic stress disorder, phobia, body dysmorphic disorder, mood disorders, and psychosis, there remains an insufficiently strong theoretical and methodological foundation to enable comparison of the role of imagery across such different disorders. The current research topic presents a diverse range of cutting-edge papers focusing on investigating the underlying mechanisms and/or treatment interventions associated with mental imagery in clinical disorders, with the goal of helping establish those common elements most clinically relevant when investigating mental imagery. The research topic comprises fifteen articles drawn from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, and neuroscience. This is a unique collection of articles that combine different perspectives from the field of clinical psychology with more diverse perspectives drawn from the wider literature on mental imagery. The original research studies and theoretical articles presented are organised around four main chapters that cover imagery and eye movements, imagery and craving, imagery and autobiographical memory, and imagery and clinical disorders. We believe that the range of submissions presented in the research topic make a strong contribution to helping establish a theoretical and methodological foundation that can enable the effective study of imagery across different disorders and domains. 606 $aMedicine and Nursing$2bicssc 610 $aautobiographical memory 610 $aclinical disorders 610 $aclinical psychology 610 $aeye movements 610 $aintrusive cognitions 610 $amental imagery 615 7$aMedicine and Nursing 700 $aDavid G. The text emphasizes the need for a strong ethical framework for computer science and engineering in our professional and personal life. This comprehensive seventh edition features thoroughly revised chapters with new and updated content, hardened by the bedrock ethical and moral values. Because of the rapidly changing computing and telecommunication ecosystem, a new chapter on Ethics and Social Responsibility in the Metaverse has been added. The interface between our current universe and the evolving metaverse presents a security quagmire. The discussion throughout the book is candid and intended to ignite students' interest and participation in class discussions and beyond. Topics and features: Establishes a philosophical framework and analytical tools for discussing moral theories and problems Offers pertinent discussions on privacy, surveillance, employee monitoring, biometrics, civil liberties, harassment, the digital divide, and discrimination Discusses the security and ethical quagmire in the developing metaverse Provides exercises, objectives, and issues for discussion with every chapter Examines the ethical, cultural and economic realities of mobile telecommunications, computer social network ecosystems, and virtualization technology Reviews issues of property rights, responsibility and accountability Explores the evolution of electronic crime, network security, and computer forensics This extensive textbook/reference addresses the latest curricula requirements for understanding the cultural, social, legal, and ethical issues in computer science and related fields, and offers invaluable advice for industry professionals wishing to put such principles into practice.
